Any good ones we didn't include? Let us know and we may do a Part 2!

John eating that pear traumatized me. The biggest arc of character development the show has ever seen for any single Doctor.

Honorable Mention to Midnight IMO
The fact that at the end, the Doctor had no answer as to what the entity was and the only way to save it was the air hostess sacrificing herself.

11:08 Rory saying “This isn’t fair. You’re turning me into you.” in this moment really destroys me. I love Doctor who and the Doctor (11 being one of my favourites) but Rory is probably one of my favourite companions because of how real he is, and it is so clear throughout the season that he doesn’t really want to be travelling with the Doctor and only does so for Amy’s sake. The Girl Who Waited kills me every time.

EARTHSHOCK could in fact be number one because of the impact it had on the audience when it was first broadcast. We needed that broken badge while in shock and processing what had happened. Millions of us did.

Honourable mention to Children of Earth (it’s in the whoniverse so it gets an HM)

6:36 its even worse for jackie instead of finding out he died to a car crash, she witnesses pete basically commit suicide. yes he was heeping tim intact but jackie wouldnt know that until im assuming around the finale when rose tells her she was there.
gets even worse when you think about the fact that jackie would probably blame the suicide on herself, as all she would do that day is berate him alltogether be a bit of a nuisance. this new timeline is arguebly worse for the whole tyler family. yes rose gets actual memories with her dad, but that doesnt change the fact that he died and it was actually her fault this time, while in the og timeline it was an accident. the new timeline just ends with rose being responsible for her fathers death, and jacky THINKING shes responsible for his death.

its a horrible thing to think about...

At the end of Face the Raven, when Twelve goes off on Ashildr, is arguably the best scene in the history of Who. It’s certainly my favorite of the run, with Seven tricking Davros into destroying Skaro as a runner up. I don’t think any other actor could have pulled off the emotion & anger the way Capaldi did. Still my favorite Doctor.

So we're just ignoring the Doctor realizing he is not alone, there's another timelord (the Master) and he gets caught by him, tortured and aged into a little gollum creature, then the three-part episode (Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords)  ends with time getting rolled back and the Master dying. The only person in the whole universe who could understand the Doctor, and he's just dead. Now that is a dark ending.

One thing to note is that although Amy has forgotten Rory and the Doctor hasn’t, a part of her still remembers. A part so small and hidden that even she can't access it but she feels something is missing even though she doesn't know why. How do I know? Sometimes she gets sad, and she doesn't know why.

In the episode where the Doctor meets Leonardo da Vinci, one of history’s greatest painters who has a strange ability to paint the future and read people, he meets Amy and Leonardo looks at her and says, “You’ve lost someone.” Amy replies, “No, I haven’t.” Leonardo gently responds, “Then why are you crying?” When we look at Amy tears are rolling down her cheek, and mentions she doesn't know why, we then cut to the Doctor who watches in silence. He knows it’s true, but he can’t tell her why.

the show may not be graphic or violent, but it sure gets DARK when it wants

@4:27 in Doctor Who and the Silurians, you mentioned that the Doctor tried to broker peace between the Silurians and succeeded, only for the humans to blow up the cave anyway. As soon as  you mentioned, I thought the story sounded familiar.

In the episode that resembles that one, the Doctor (David Tenant) gives an enemy a chance to leave Earth peacefully or face his wraith. They agree and begin to leave. But just as they’re going, Harriet Jones orders an energy missile strike that destroys their ship ending hundreds of alien lives. When the Doctor confronts her, she defends her actions, saying they might come back and that he won’t always be around to protect Earth. The Doctor furious quietly says one devastating line: “Doesn’t she look tired?” That single comment effectively ends her time as Prime Minister. Yet, despite that fall from power, she becomes a widely recognised figure in the WhoUniverse, even the Daleks knew who she was. right before they sent her to the great beyond.

Sorry, 5 had an easy and cheerful time? I'm not exactly an expert but the main things I remember him for are failing to save companions, other companions leaving him because 'Its just not fun anymore' and 'There should have been another way'

"Dot and Bubble" is basically Doctor Who's answer to Black Mirror, with the whole "horrible people using social media and futuristic tech to be MORE horrible" thing!

You disagree with the 1980s Programme Guide on two accounts.  Although she only appeared in one serial, they consider Sara Kingdom to be a companion (who died).  The Brigadier, on the other hand, is considered a guest star.

The Family of Blood is my favourite episode of the New Who era.

The Halloween Apocalypse ending is quite a dark ending, because I was like "how are they meant to get out of that one?"

Honourable mention to The Beast Below for me. Seeing the, till then, happy labrador Doctor turn angry and cold, and be so conflicted about what he thinks he has to do really stuck with me. The fury in the line "no one human has ANYTHING TO SAY TO ME TODAY!" is incredible

that scene at the end of dot and bubble solidified that they fucking WASTED Gatwa. If RTD was still competent, Gatwa would've been a PHENOMENAL Doctor

So glad to see Earthshock so high on the list - after you mentioned Androzani I thought Earthshock might get ignored completely. Adric is often overlooked, and  audiences that are too young to have seen that story go out live will never truly appreciate just how shocking that ending really was.
