When Rambo leaps off the cliff, Stallone actually performed the stunt himself and ended up breaking one of his ribs

This film did more for Vietnam vets in about 90 mins than VA did for vet's in 15 years...

The last monologue changed the dynamic and classification of the movie. One of the best films ever made.

Stallone's monologue at the end of the movie is about as real as it gets from an actor portraying a combat vet's pain. I'm a vet, but never had to see combat, but this is what I heard from those who did. It's heart-wrenching.

Agent Orange was used in Vietnam as a defoliant so the enemy couldn't hide. It was also super toxic.

The young, skinny redheaded Deputy was played by David Caruso. He's best known for playing the character of Horatio Caine, in the original "CSI" TV series.

31:20 “How do you not get PTSD from shit like that?”
Looks around at the absolute carnage
Uh buddy I got something to tell you

“Now after all this shit, I gotta deal with a butter bar from the guard” I swear this is what Rambo is thinking in the mine/cave

@TheSlaker99 1 year ago

As my dad had described it, No one on the ground exactly knew what agent orange was, all they knew is that after just a couple hours all that impenetrable, sunless jungle, would rot away into a dirt road still sizzling from whatever chemical reaction had occurred, and then you had to march through it. Also this movie is most likely the Best depiction of how veterans were treated when they got home from Vietnam, and why a lot of those vets ended up just living alone in the woods.

It always amazed me, how so many people, for so many years, insisted that Stallone was a 'Bad' Actor. NONE of them must have seen this movie, and that ending monologue?

When Rambo gets to the city, he takes out their fuel supply, munitions, and vision.

@30:50 He gave his life for his country and that is exactly what the country took from John was his life.

All Teasle had to do was show a little human decency and let the man grab a bite to eat at the local diner--then he could have driven him to the edge of town, Rambo would have said "thanks for the ride," and that would have been the end of it.
