I enjoyed every minute of that!!!! Wonderful vid, thank you : ) I'm not totally into cottagecore but my home definitely has touches of cottage and I love a good thrift find with character. Easier than silver polish is to take a large pan like a turkey roaster line it with aluminon foil and cover with baking soda. add water, boil it and add the pieces you want to clean off tarnish. It is great for cleaning jewelry too.

That oak curio looked like a 90's reproduction. I had one and the legs broke and the decorative piece on the top came loose. They were not well made like the originals. However, if you can find one that is actually from 1910 to 1935, they were made better and usually are in in better shape than the reproductions, unless they were stored in a barn or shed. Many antiques get ruined when family did not properly store them. I never get why they simply did not sell it if they did not like the style. It does not matter if it was grandma's if you hate it and don't want it displayed in your home. Allow someone who appreciates it to buy it. That would make your grandma much happier than you allowing it to deteriorate over time because it was not properly stored.
