Man this was an awesome time to be a basketball loving kid. Not only legends like Jordan, Pippen, and Ewing on the floor but also the great Marv Albert calling the games and the sweet NBA On NBC music and production and iconic sideline reporting from Ahmad Rashad and Hannah Storm. Just the greatest era of basketball ever.
I just loved the NBA intro music on NBC, man I can remember everyone packed in the house people going for more beer......AWWW MAN THIS WAS JUST AN AWESOME TIME FOR THE NBA AND PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD WAS PART OF MUST SEE BASKETBALL
Knicks and Bulls playoff series in 92 and 93 are some of the most intense and hard fought games I've ever watched. Neither team left anything on the court.
As an 8-year-old to 17-year-old Knicks fan during the 90’s, it was beyond frustrating knowing that no matter what, that dude from North Carolina could never be beat. You just had to accept his greatness. I miss seeing him play. There will never be another competitor like him in any sport ever again. I’d live through it all again, especially knowing we just won in ‘26 lol. A forever tip of the hat to #23
Man, compared to todays NBA playoffs, these were intense, same players just beating each other down! At the end, look at the players, exhausted! Coaches and players going for one common goal: win!
I miss the 90’s especially the NBA on NBC. The narration, top tier coverage by the analysts and production with that intro cannot be duplicated, or replicated. However, Peacock tried using it but it can’t touch what NBC use to produce.
It just never felt like the Knicks were gonna be able to get a win in Chicago if they really needed to (Knicks lost 12 straight playoff games in Chicago after winning game 1 in the 1992 semis) and they really didn't stand a chance in game 6 after losing game 5 in such gut wrenching fashion either.
I was six yrs old stuck the tv watching these games as a Knick fan but amazed by Air Jordan and Pippen shooting my dirty socks in the hamper, copying moves vs my lil bro n big cousins when they pulled up.All during commercial break I really loved the game and these times…
It makes me sad watching these games. Sad because I miss this NBA. What the NBA is now, is like the Temu version of what it used to be. You just don't see the grit, the passion, the fundamentals, the defense, the toughness, the teamwork, the midrange game, or the rivalries we used to get. I used to watch every NBA game that came on TV back then. Now, I don't think I have watched even 5 minutes of a game in the last 3 years.
This Knicks team would absolutely destroy the Knicks championship team from this year.
