I recently looked at two HW35's for two different friends, Both had the small spring above the adjusting screw missing!, One friend had just bought the rifle cheaply because it wouldn't cock properly, The other one was lost in the field after his started acting up and a clown wannabe gunsmith lost it in the long grass!
I bought the last two that Chambers guns had in stock and both ended up performing as is expected of a HW Rekord unit! 👍
Love your videos, may they keep appearing for years to come!!
It's such a beautiful rifle and if made today I would have it ,,,it actually reminds me of my old Original Mod 35e, I had in the 60s,it had the same sights but was in .22 I could hit a small matchbox every time at around 35 yards then,,,it was magical,,,,thank you ,,,
Beatifull gun, proud owner of 3 of these, 1 so early it has an early (black ) non record trigger, serial nr 7657 and the seagull logo on it + alluminium butt stock.
Wow you have awesome collection those are the real gems!!!! I like the old style stock not much the new one just bought one a few days ago I was not expecting to buy one of those because the old ones they are very expensive but one popped up close by and I couldn’t pass , it’s.177, r1 made around 1987 according to serial numbers it’s not perfect because it was kind of neglected but it hasn’t been apart before and it looks like not shoot that much, got it for $350 , and it’s amazing and very happy with it, best regards
If any Canadians are looking, D&L Airgun has leather seal replacements. They are out of the adapter kit. I wonder if the plastic is to prevent rubbing and galling issues. The one around the cocking shoe could prevent metal on metal contact that some models are known for, and the one around the front stock bolt could keep it from rubbing on the inside of the stock. At 27:48 you can see what looks like a flat spot and repair in front of the cocking slot.
What got me into air rifles was I dislocated a tendon in April, I still need it relocated but waiting lists are silly here, over the appointments that I have had, i got told I hadn't dislocated it, I'd ruptured the ligaments, second appointment I went armed with an ultrasound proved me right, 3rd appointment I broke my ankle in April and the NHS did nothing about it even though they took an x-ray, the one I got for some back yard plinking has turned into 4
I dont know about the states but replacement leather breech washer material still available in the UK. John Knibbs international will supply you with a length , approx three inches long a tube as I recall, I purchased some years ago still going strong. Keep it in an air tight jar in a cool dark place. Quite possible Haimish at Chambers will supply you with the same .
