Hi Everyone Part 3 is now out!!

Ancient Egypt lasted so long that the ancient Egyptians had Egyptologists

1:29:10 Milo just did a full video on lovelock cave and it goes into far more detail and corrects a few things he says here (in a way that makes Phillip more wrong not less)

The 'there were no mummies' argument always kills me. No shit, Europeans WERE EATING THEM. Headache? Take some skull powder. Can't get the PERFECT shade of brown for your portrait of the King? Mummy brown will help.

let me tell ya' we miniminuteman fans are ravenous, there's surprisingly a lack of reactions to his videos, specially of his long form videos, so if you give us a 2 hour react we'll eat that shit up

Literally the only trait of a tomb is being where they put a dead person.

My favorite thing to show these conspiracy theorists is Iraivan temple in Hawaii, it’s a Hindu temple that took approximately 20-30 years to complete, using no electricity no power tools, no modern technology except the ancient Indian craftsmanship and hand tools by a group of master craftsman. It’s literally modern proof of ancient work being possible with simple tools, and the temple is made of white granite and is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Look it up, it’s such a cool place, it only got finished a few years ago.

I swear Philip makes me fricken Googledebunkers

Don’t forget the Philip response video which is like another hour and a half

Googledebunkers rejoice

You should have a version of your model that has a Googledebunkers thing

Fun fact, one of the reasons people would loot tombs and specifically take the mummies is that people would eat them.

Unironically, we have less mummies is because people at them.

More specifically, because of a comedy of errors, Mumia became associated with powder mummy remains and was consumed as some kind of cure-all.

This is gona be Googeldebunkers. 🎉

WEEEE ARE EATING GOOOD😭 THANK YOU

EDIT: Fav civilization(s) Aztec and Sumerian

Just gonna mention something really really cool here because A. Egypt and ancient views on the afterlife was like my special interest as a kid for like 10-15 years (and I never get to talk about it enough).

Phillip is deliberately underselling the Great Pyramid's mortuary complex because, (iirc) it was said to have been one of THE biggest burial complexes in the world. Not only does it have multiple pyramids and the sphinx, it apparently also had a MASSIVE interconnected temple complexes built around and within it with a dedicated dock for it at the Nile River (which would have been much closer to the site at the time). The carvings, paintings, inscriptions, and statues were all found in that temple complex, on top of altars dedicated to the Pharaohs who were all buried there.

Next, part of the reason why the Valley of Kings have inscriptions and paintings on the walls was because it was meant to be a massive spellbook of sorts, with instructions on how to safely cross into the afterlife and the spells needed to live a comfortable life there (which is why they buried all those treasures alongside the mummy at that time). While it also included some of their achievements in life, the Pharaoh had temple complexes away from the Valley of Kings built in their honour while they were alive and donating time and money to the Temples and Priesthood, it's on those temple walls we get more of the Pharaoh's life and achievements, but it's also how a number of Pharaohs had their names erased from history by rival Pharaoh or even the Priesthood themselves just striking the cartouche (a special kind of hieroglyph that encompasses the name of the Pharaoh in question) of an offending Pharaoh out from their temple complex after their death, like with what happened to Hatshepsut or Tutankhamun. Which makes it more horrifying when you realize that the living saying the name of the dead is what gives them agency in the afterlife according to A. Egyptian belief (I can't remember how much this changed over time, but given the time period between Hatshepsut and Tutankhamun, that specific aspect of A. Egyptian beliefs didn't change all that much).

It SUPER fascinating stuff to read about if anyone is interested to dive down that rabbit hole, I promise you it will make things so many things about why the Pharaohs did things the way they did make so much more sense.

What drives me even more Googledebunkers is that not only does Philip use arguments undermining the expertise of acient trades workers.
He also uses examples showing exactly how they did it but he dismisses it cause "takes too long"

I... just... AHHH.
Yeah no doubt it took long but clearly he didn't have anyone in trades in his family.
If he did he'd find it pretty obvious that a bunch archaeologists that dont work with their hands will have a way harder time replicating the work of skilled stone masons that did that for a living over years of their life.

I know how to build a brick wall, but since I did it maybe twice in my life its going to take me far longer to do it than builders doing it daily over years of their career.
Also it will not be as sturdy as the one built by a professional builder

The Smithsonian was exempt because the Smithsonian is subject to its own 1989 National Museum of the American Indian Act (NMAIA), which requires that they return any Native American remains and cultural items to any tribe that asks for them.

So the War of the Worlds hysteria is actually an example of what Milo talks about with newspapers running old-timey clickbait. There were multiple points throughout the radio show where it was made clear that it was fictitious, and only a small number of people who'd only listened to it for a few minutes between those points were ever under the impression it was real.

But newspapers picked up on that small number of people and magnified them to make it seem like a more wide-ranging and damaging reaction for two reasons. One was in order to sell more papers, but the other was because the papers were feeling threatened by the "new media" of radio and were trying to make it seem dangerous to society, IE "This radio programme was so convincing it caused X people to panic and suffer injuries! That would never happen with a good old newspaper!" and "The harmful electromagnetic waves from the radio machines damaged the brains of their listeners, rendering them into a primitive mindset!" and such.

So you bringing up the story actually illustrates Milo's point of people believing things from old newspapers that aren't actually true - the War of the Worlds example is just one that's established itself in mainstream culture, instead of the fringes alongside the mole people and the eight-foot were-rabbit of Wichita.

Everytime she says PHILLIP!
I hear johntron saying Phil you make me angry Phil!

8:00 It's not that he thinks Humans are stupid, he just thinks the brown ones are stupid. That's how most ancient conspiracies are, just an increasingly complicated way of saying "I don't believe brown people could build this, therefore Atlantis/Tartaria/Hyperboria."
