Finally someone shared details of using a notebook, because usually we can hear in videos "I'm using my notebook for everything and it changed my life" 😉

I like watching YouTube vids about journaling almost as much as I like journaling itself.

CONGRATS on being confident on your faith, the most important thing God gave us, God bless you from a fellow Mexican.

I have digital burnout . I have been going back to "physical" media: books, watches, CDs even plays instead going to the movies   now notebooks. Got a PR Voyager pocket and it has been liberating. I feel more organized at work and I have a personal book for fun, love it.

im 34 father of 3, obsessed with tech and tech life..... I can't believe I waited this long to slow down and write down my thoughts overs using my thumbs.... I'm hooked.

You tore me up talking about your mom's field notes. I'm so sorry for your loss! I lost my mom January 22, 2025 and it's been so devastating to me. God bless you and comfort you.

The idea of brainstorming on paper before I attempt to send a meaningful message or phone call, is powerful. Thanks. I think that’s why I put those tasks off, because I haven’t done the prep work to wrap my mind around what I want to express.

Best and most honest video, i have seen on "pocket journaling".

The algorithm just recommended your channel this afternoon, and I've watched several videos now. I have to say that my favorite thing so far is seeing how you work faith in without making it a channel about your faith. Like it's just a part of your day. Well done.

Just recently, I put a small notebook in the same pocket I usually keep my phone, and moved my phone to my bag (medical condition requires me to carry a bag around with me when I'm out and about all the time, so I always have one).
Every time I go to take out my phone, I instead write down why I went to take out the phone in the first place. This helped create a barrier to actually getting the phone out, and allowed me to jot things down to look up later in the day that pop into my head randomly (I'm ADHD diagnosed, so I've also noticed how much my mind wanders and is drawn to the phone without me even realising it - this has helped bring me back to the task I was on in the first place).
This was a really REALLY eye opening experience for me, as generally I wouldn't even think about why I was getting my phone out, I would just go for it. Its also eye opening how many times I have the same thought during the day, and would ordinarily get my phone out to check  even though it doesn't actually do anything for me in the slightest - now or later on in the day (how much solar our panels are currently producing - knowing this information doesn't change ANYTHING).

That file divider for notebooks by year was creative. Also this was the best notebook video. All the others just regurgitate basic things, this was helpful and in depth. Actually might try it.

I know I mentioned in another video that I'm also from Idaho. It's great to see another fellow Idahoan creating interesting material. I have subscribed and can't wait to see more of your content

Mr. Foster you’ve gained a new follower. Thank you!

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for this video. One of the things that’s prevented me to journal for so long or at least continue journaling on paper is my perfectionism and videos about journaling online are all about the aesthetics, stickers, journals that are full with portfolios of polaroids etc, but you made it about the actual jotting down of ideas and thoughts and I specifically like when you said that if it’s get messy, then that means that something is going on around here so first to start from simple pocket journals to making it simplistic really got me into journaling that I enjoy and that works for me and that does keep me off my phone. I also think it’s pretty cool that you talked about religion. I’m a Muslim not Christian, but I feel that reflection on spirituality and religion and remembering to add that into our days and routines and journals and habit trackers are important so overall thank you for being pretty cool. Love your videos.

I would love to see a video explaining how you start a new notebook. Do you randomly deligate a certain number of pages to each area? Or are you less worried about the number of pages and continue thoughts or areas on the next available pages once you've filled up a previous page?

I just discovered you today, watched several of your videos, and subscribed.  Two things I especially like: First, in this video, you are giving concrete, doable suggestions of things we can do in our notebooks instead of on our phones, and second, in a couple of other videos, you described your devotional life as a Catholic, in a way that I can use, too.  I already pray the rosary and an examen, and I use the USCCB on YouTube for the daily readings and commentary.  But your outline in your journal of your daily sequence of Scripture and prayer is inspiring to me.  I often feel scattered, and you have just given me a good tool to gather myself back up each morning by keeping an outline of my daily devotional practices in my journal.  Thanks!

Love that Rugged Rosary! I have one of those too. Thanks for the video! Mostly just commenting to help you out with the algo

Unpopularity earned by doing what is right is not unpopularity at all, but glory.

I enjoyed this video, and I love having stumbled upon a fellow Catholic who appreciates his faith and is willing to talk about it publicly. You have a new subscriber.
