In this new episode, I’m taking you along once again through a few ordinary moments of our everyday life in Berlin. Lately, I haven’t been able to take care of our home as much as I usually do. I’m still not feeling completely well and my energy hasn’t fully returned, and perhaps these darker autumn days are affecting my mood a little too. But today I decide to give myself a little push and slowly start taking care of the house again, because I know how much better I feel when everything around me is clean and tidy. Of course, I take my time and simply do what I can. Later, I prepare farinata, but this time I give it a little Sicilian touch inspired by panelle. Traditional farinata is wonderfully simple, made with chickpea flour, water, salt and pepper, while Sicilian panelle, which are usually fried, also contain parsley. I add some parsley to my farinata for that little touch of freshness, creating my own simple combination of the two. It’s an easy, delicious dish and chickpea flour also makes it naturally rich in plant based protein. In the evening, there is one last very ordinary part of everyday life waiting for me: tidying up the kitchen and washing the dishes, because somehow there are always dishes waiting to be washed. And with a clean kitchen and another little day of our Berlin life behind us, this episode comes to an end. I hope you enjoy spending these simple moments with me, my husband and little Bob, and I wish you a pleasant time watching.
