"Introducing a Superhero who would fight them, no, Super just wasn't enough this hero needed to be Ultra" 🔥🔥🔥✍

the fact that this show is named after a buzzword is so funny that would be like if a show today was called "Skibidi P"

This junior high schooler who watched this series religiously is now a 70-year-old.

That theme song has a permanent spot in my brain. Catchiest theme of the whole Ultra series IMO

It sort of seems like most japanese programs and other media geared towards kids have a bit more "wtf that belongs in a more adult themed film" type moments

Fun Fact: The suit actor of Kemur Man is the same suit actor would played the OG Ultraman.

this was so funny I did not realize the Hitter scene was an actual in the show I thought it was something Futurama made up just to be funny 7:50

Say what you will about the airline industry, but ever since Ultra Q shone a light on it the number of planes being lost in alternate dimensions and accosted by sky walruses has dropped significantly.

These monsters look crude now, but on a low-resolution CRT TV, they looked more atmospheric and scary actually. Back then, shows were made to look best at 640x480. Most of us are watching them on like FHD (1920x1080) monitors now.

An interesting fact of note for 19:05, I've heard a few folks put up the suggestion that this episode is the source of hitogata (aka the japanese psa featuring two white figures on a railroad track) due to the girl's echo fading in and out alongside a few other things.

There's a form of '60s melancholy' that I can only find in Ultra Q, compared to any other media from that decade, I really can't explain it, but it's just beautifully melancholic.

After months of binging the entire Showa Ultra series, Ultra Q is still my favorite. As far as the Twilight Zone comparison, I liken it more to Kolchak The Night Stalker, with it's recurring characters and monster focus. I watched a lot of it as a kid, which is probably why I liked this so much.

I've only watched a handful of episodes of Ultra Q, but I am fascinated by it as the precursor of Ultraman; and the Blazar tribute episode was pretty great
