Okay LOVEBITES fans…you were RIGHT about this one. 🤯🔥

Dystopia Symphony was already ridiculous, but working Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata into this?! Absolutely blew my mind.

What LOVEBITES performance are we doing next? 👇🤘

Amazing performance!

Welcome back to Lovebites ! For me, "Dystopia Symphony" is a seamless and very innovative blend of prog/neoclassical metal/symphonic/speed-power metal/and a bit of thrash thrown in. This track exemplifies the compositional & arrangement prowess of Miyako (virtuoso lead guitarist & pianist at stage left adjacent to the piano). She composed this song as a tribute to Beethoven when the maestro was coming to terms with his hearing loss. In this track, you can clearly hear the Beethoven motifs from the 1st & 3rd movements of "Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 27, No. 2" (aka "Moonlight Sonata") and "Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13" (aka "Sonata Pathétique"). In the 1st part of Miyako's piano intro, she performed the 1st movement of "Moonlight Sonata", and in the 2nd part of her intro (at 1:59 in your video), she seamlessly integrated a few measures (towards the end) of the 3rd movement

On the confession "Plus, I'm a sucker for the piano, too", everyone knew there's a man who is about to have the time of his life. 😅🤗
The composer of this beauty, Miyako, incorporated musical parts from Beethoven himself into the song, nowhere more beautifully than the big harmonic dual guitar climax, so carefully prepared through the dark Progressive section - straight variation from the Master's "Pathetique" Sonata, 2nd Movement. 💙 The piano-four-hands section that provided the dramatic tie-in of the whole song, as far as the stage performance goes, must also be the first in the history of Metal music... unless I am missing out big time.
The overall story, the songwriting prowess, and the complexity of bringing it out Live make "Dystopia Symphony" arguably one of the Top-5 LOVEBITES creations, ever. That complexity, together with the twists of fate, conspired against the song in a way, since it had to wait 4 long years since appearing on their Covid-era "Glory, Glory to the World" EP until seeing the stage. It was like a hidden treasure that fans were whispering about, doubtful it was even playable in a Live setting. Morale is, of course: never doubt LOVEBITES! 😇🐺 Being known perfectionists, they accorded appropriate time to prepare the event... but when it hit, it truly hit. One of the great moments that will probably be recognized as such decades from now. Think QUEEN's "Live Aid", or THE BEATLES at the Budokan - this is where this stands for me.
(Btw, the band just announced on a program dedicated to their 10th Anniversary, that the DVD/ Blu-ray of their own first Budokan concert, March 2026, will be released this autumn - 19 new versions of their unequaled, moving songs. However, "Dystopia Symphony" was not on that night, so here we have its only official recording so far!)

Una obra maestra sin duda , Beethowen seguro que la firmaria como suya

🐺🐺🐺

I’ve been repeating this mantra for 5, coming on 6 years since I was fortunate enough to stumble across LOVEBITES. They are the best ever. They have no peers. I chose the phrase carefully because I know “greatest” has an entirely different connotation…one which the band has no control over. Fame.

But in modern music history they are better than any band anyone could care to name. Better in every respect, both musically and personally. They don’t do “average”, yet they don’t do “arrogance” either. Five talented, beautiful, down-to-earth, and warm-hearted people making music most musicians aspire to but few will ever achieve. It’s because all 5 are the pinnacle of their craft, individual virtuosos that makes the sum of those parts better than any other band, because any other band fails on one or more counts.

LOVEBITES providing melted faces, dropped jaws, and goose pimples, it is what they do. Awesome performance of a terrific song, thanks for the nice reaction! 🤘🐺🤘

Told you they were outstanding live. 🐺 Miyako is classically trained on piano from age 3, as you see, she has piano concert level ability. She didn't pick up a guitar until about age 18.  "Dystopia Symphony" is on their 2021 EP, 'Glory, Glory, To the World'. It was the last studio release with original bassist Miho. A newer performance here, with Fami on bass.

Queen Miyako is a musician beyond compare!

The members of LOVEBITES possess world-class skills; the way this song blends classical elements with metal is truly brilliant—it's one of my favorite songs.

After playing beautifully, she casually reaches for her guitar pick, so smooth!!!!

彼女達は日本の誇りです❤

They're absolutely amazing! This performance blows me away every time.

I love the fact that metal audiences not only keep silent during this but appreciate it. I wonder how many pop princesses would dare to add a 2-minute classical piano on a concert? Metal is the classical music of our times, I am certain. And just like a classical piece it's divided into movements. Miyako does it on piano and it sounds like it could have been written in the 1800s 😀

All 5 members can play piano, among several other instruments

The absolute BEST in modern day metal for me. Song is mind-blowing. Miyako and all of them are once in a lifetime magic caught in a bottle. Hell yeah!

Soldier Stands Solitarily live next! 🤘

A truely Beautiful Symphony  👌🙏🔥

[The following is from an interview for the Japanese edition of LOVEBITES magazine]
👑🎤Asami👑: "Dystopia Symphony" was based on Beethoven's "Pathetique," and we built the song into a suite-like piece from there.
💚🎸Midori💚: This is probably the first time we've done something this heavily focused on progressive rock.😈
P.S.
The synchronized playing of M(Midori)&M(Miyako) in the solo guitar section clearly indicates that it is based on the "Pathétique."
And furthermore, the third movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata is performed on the piano by Miyako—appearing both during the intro, where she plays while resting the guitar on her lap, and later, following the dissolution of her piano duo with Asami.🤗
