Fun facts not included due to time restraints: The reason the elves have so much leather? They created a Torment Nexus of Evil in a nearby desert. They've dug out a bit in a valley in a desert where they can horde animals into a small channel that has a pit in the middle too tall for animals to escape from. They then stand on the sides and stab spears into the pit. It is full of bones and corpses. They have essentially crashed any sort of leather market and have definitely marked their souls to eternal torment.

Also the Pit Enchantment Saga was like 30 minutes of Jay crashing out (because remember, it was his "reward" for the horrid escort quest) while explaining why the enchantment sucked to every elf he saw, by stabbing them and showing it in action. Him and some others tried to brainstorm ways to get rid of it, like telling the dwarves it could be useful if they found a rare ore block they couldn't mine: just have another dwarf stand on it and stab them! The dwarf he pawned it off to thought it was neat, though.

Toten later told Jay and Scorch that the bear fucking air comboed him like a fighting game. Uppercut into the air and then hit him like 3 more times to kill him.

This is such a wonderful series and I'm glad so many are reacting to it. I've put so many hours into this cozy multidimensional horror game.

Edit: also Shovel's Chinese TikTok bit might be the hardest I've seen Jay laugh.

The contraption Shovel was talking about was almost certainly either an Archimedes Screw, or a bucket wheel/conveyor, and it makes me feel things that his first thought was TikTok XD

So on the strengths and weaknesses, those aren't actually based on race. Vintage Story doesn't actually have a race system, you only play as a "Seraph." What's happening in the Ren series is that each faction is only allowed to choose from a specific group of classes. For example, only Dwarves can be the "Delver/Miner" class. On joining, every player can choose any class, it's just up to honor rules for them to stick to their constraints. The strengths and weaknesses each class have are also modded, slightly tweaked, with new classes added as well. This whole series is heavily modded, from the world generation using mods to add rivers, a complete Combat Overhaul mod, mods that make stone mining easier, expand cooking, etc. Vintage Story has a lot of potential, but much like Minecraft, most of that potential is being capitalized on by the modding community, at least for the time being.

This is one of my favorite games I've played in the last few years. It's 100% worth the $22

Psychosis game mechanic.

If the players sanity is low enough they get whispers about doing certain things like starting fires, leaving out food, leading their friends to monsters. If the player does one of these actions they gain skill points in the psycho tree :)

The devs said they have plans to bring it to steam at a later date when they have more updates (one of the reasons they mention againts its the return policy on steam being too limiting for the buyer)

New Update dropped for this game a few days ago.

I have to say; after watching Jay play this game I went ahead and bought it. Worth the $22 I paid. Installation was easy, runs even on my POS laptop with only minor stuttering on block load areas. Worth the time if it tickles your 'tism. Only issue I have is the absolute shit locations I places you in at the start of game. I literally spawned halfway up a mountain in one world and nearly died to get back to sea level.

My YouTube shorts algorithm shows me a lot of videos about Roman construction.

I think the way you do a betrayal or "He was under a darker influence" in a game like this would be through rp. I assume something like this server would have admins, so talk to them about having a new dedicated "evil" faction. Then if the admins agree to it, talk to other higher ranking players of the server like people who are online the most or people who run the factions. And of course lay out ground rules for the evil faction like "You can't just burn houses to the ground." But I think it's definitely doable.

Vintage Story will never go onto steam because of those reasons you've said and others that are listed on the FAQ, but it's like old Minecraft where you should really only buy it from it's official site
