as an Orthodox, full respect to Sam. He nailed it exactly when he stated that the main reasons of the great schism we're richly theological and philosophical reasons that, for the common Catholic and Orthodox who simply seeks a relation with God, are reasons that simply go over their heads since not everyone seeks Christ through philosophy and theology.

I'm a Jewish convert to Catholicism, a lawyer and political philosophy lecturer (scholarly bona fides 😂). I had no dog in the fight, and studied for a few years, including especially on the dispute between Orthodox and Catholic, having already dismissed Protestantism as obvious heresy, and settled in favour of diaphysitism, Marian dogmas etc. Filioque and Papal Primacy are not easy, but not impossible to understand.

The best way to the solution is not by recourse to primary confidence in one's own intellect, but by two things: typology; and confidence in the mode and method of development of doctrine through the authority (or lack) of the Churches themselves, all things considered.

In spiritual crisis i won't go into here, i went to a catholic church. A priest there was the first person to believe me with what i was going through.

I fully credit him with being part of saving my life.

I still felt compelled to go to the Orthodox church and i remain to this day.

That being said, again in a way that i won't explain here, God is present in these two communions in a way that other confessions just do not know.

My own brother is Catholic. I don't fear for his soul. At all.

Much love to you RC types.

Hello Mr. Sam, I would like for us to discuss the church of the New Testament.

Let me know if you are interested in the discussion.

he just said he doesnt reject it, he just doesnt go there cuz they dont give him the Eucharist. The title is so misleading. He also said clearly he didnt investigate yet the deepest of their differences, so he cannot give guidance on which ancient church to follow, but encourages everyone to go to the ancient churches.

The title should be " Why the Orthodox Church rejected Sam Shamoun"

Love to see the humility flourishing in Sam through his journey.

Orthodox theology is closest to early Christianity.

If you dont know (Sam), thats an honest reaction. look for 1 Timothy 3:15. "if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth." Therefore ask the church that may enlightened you from confusion. The Church is old enough to tell you the right and truth to the answer. Catholic Church means universal and it is the pillar of truth that guides everyone to the Jesus the Lord King.

If you ever find yourself in an orthodox church during mass and then go to a catholic church again you will almost laugh at the difference. Noone can understand unless he tries both. Being in catholic church is like being in a playground and being in an orthodox church makes you feel awe

I'm so glad to hear that, Brother Sam 🙏 🙌 ❤️

I wish they had gotten to the question of Haec sancta. The Romans affirming the position of haec sancta would be a beautiful step towards unifying the church.

Sam please be received fully into the Catholic Church! We love you and we recognize your ardent faith and zeal for the religion!

I know the creed is different but one of the Catholic Churches in Italy has the Orthodox creed. I mean Orthodox produce saint’s, I get handing the keys to Peter. But we were never supposed to separate. Who separated us at the end of the day? Who is always trying to break up the church??? I mean the papacy will mostly end up joining the one religion under the anti christ.

This is one of the main reasons why people struggle to come to Christ.....not because they don't nessasarily believe, but because it is so confusing. I'm so glad I watched this (I watch as much of Sam as possible), I believe believing in Jesus is about 'spirit and truth'. No one knows the way in terms of Orthodox, Catholic etc etc. The only way is truly believing in Christ, Jesus would not hold it against us if we got it wrong but had a true heart. I struggle with knowing whether to join a church, but everytime I think I will, something holds me back, the only thing I long for is baptism. Maybe its just me being lazy to take the time out? But I also don't want to be be on the wrong hands when it comes to faith and brotherhood in the church. Help! 😂❤

Peter's primacy is indisputable

@1896shepherd 1 month ago

I think the big disagreement is not whether the papacy is a valid position as a bishop or even a head of the church of Rome. It seems to be whether or not he holds more authority that the other bishops who were also established by the apostles. Such as Antioch etc.

Evo превода:

---

*Temporal Continuity in the East:* Between 44 and 54 AD, Peter is historically and documentarily tied to the East. He is in Jerusalem (the Council of 50 AD), and then in Antioch. Silvanus is there the entire time, acting as a mediating and scribal figure.

*The Antiochian Archives and Suppressed Writings:* The Chronicles of the Church of Antioch and early Syriac manuscripts (which developed in parallel with the Roman ones). In these Eastern sources, Silvanus is cited as someone who left records regarding the organization of the church in Antioch, where Peter was the true leader, precisely at a time when the Vatican claims Peter was already in Rome. The Roman Church systematically marginalized these sources or dismissed them as "local traditions" because they undermine their chronology of primacy.
