The people that celebrated his not guilty verdict are equally disgusting,, making a racial event out of this thing,,, using the man who basically all but dyed his skin white
The reason Norm’s jokes work is because the punchline, no matter how complex the lead up, is so easy and simple. It’s just expressing the fact that OJ obviously was guilty. Everybody knew it. And the joke hammers that home mercilessly.
It took me a few years for Norm MacDonalds' sense of humor to resonate into my mind... but, once I figured it out... I cannot stop laughing!!! His timing... his slow pause... it is comedy genius!!! ( I could never forget the day I learned of his passing... I openly sobbed )
7:53 is Norm's idea of a perfect joke. The setup and punchline are the same. My favorite Rodney one is: "I met this girl, she told me to come over, there's nobody home. I went over. There was nobody home!"
4:15 makes the most brutal-joke moment in tv history, the pinnacle of SNL never to be matched ever again and grants legendary status to Norm forever onward
There's like 20 of these OJ simpson Norm videos. I guess they show how well this bit on SNL worked, the jokes still kill, I just wish Norm was still around to say "Speaking of killing...."
