Maybe one of the reasons they streamline the duties of CNAs is so that nurses will not depend on CNAs to do all of their work. Nurses need to remember that CNAs are there to “help” nurses with “their” patients. That’s why they are called nurse “assistants.”
Some nurses won’t answer call lights when CNAs are busy with other patients, or even do room checks on their patients, but expect CNAs to do all the work while they do a couple of med passes and sit down most of the shift.

As a current CNA (future nurse) I would hate only doing vitals and that’s it. I do vitals, blood sugars, run your ABGS to the lab, go pick up your RBCs from the lab, bathe patients, turn patients, empty foleys, chart (mainly my patient care, meals, and I & O, and answer lights (not many of our nurses answer lights). So to be and aide who only does vitals I’d be so bored 😐

I’m a staff nurse at KP, and burnout is real. CNAs at my location can help with basic patient needs, and emptying the foley. Our ratios are the best in the state. The pay is great, but you will work for every penny.

My first travel contract was in Cali and was with a KP facility and let me tell you. Horrible. Micromanaging all shift. Half the staff was leaving. And the techs didn’t do vitals or accuchecks. Was so glad to leave.

Hey BeeBee. Absolutely love your videos and they are all so informative. I've taken lots of notes on the "what to dos" and the things to address especially with recruiters. I don't see many videos on transportation as a travel nurse. Will some companies provide transportation while on the assignment. I have heard krucial staffing does. Or are u always on your own having to rent a car (which seems expensive) or ubers/lyft. Next is I'm a little worried about filing taxes once I start traveling. Does state taxes have to be filed for each state we work in? Do you know how all that works with filing stipends? I know you aren't a tax filer lol but just was hoping you could give a little guidance
