Apne jo 25g ka oil use Kiya hai aur 75g ka perfume base alcohol use Kiya hai woh 1:4 ka ratio hai ager oil ki quality achi hai toh ap 1:5 ke ratio me bhi bana sakte hain usme saving hogi aur ager oil quality low hai toh 1:3 ke ratio me banana behter hai...

Sir, perfumery student here. Let me explain step by step how I dilute a compound.

*1) Weighing the compound*
First, set the scale to zero. Place your empty bottle on the scale and press **Tare**. The display will return to zero. Then add the compound until you reach the required weight. This gives you an accurate amount of the compound.

*2) Adding the alcohol*
Once the compound has been weighed, press *Tare* again so the scale returns to zero. Then add the required amount of alcohol according to your formulation.

*3) Mixing*
Mix the solution either with a magnetic stirrer or gently by hand. Try to avoid creating excessive bubbles or foam, especially when working with volatile materials such as citrus oils, because unnecessary agitation can increase evaporation of the more volatile components. Once properly mixed, seal the bottle and store it in a dark cabinet away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

*Maceration / maturation*
I personally prefer to give the perfume around **1 month before making a serious evaluation**, because the fragrance can change considerably as the materials integrate.

After that, if the formula contains naturals, resins, waxy materials, or other components that may cause haze or precipitation, I would consider **cold filtration**. For example, the perfume can be cooled to around **4–5°C for 12–48 hours**, then filtered. The purpose is to remove materials that may precipitate at lower temperatures, reducing the chance of particles appearing later in cold environments and helping prevent atomizer clogging.

After filtration, the perfume can be allowed to mature further. Depending on the formula, giving it another *30–60 days* can help the fragrance become smoother and more integrated. Think of it a little like letting a wine mature. 😉 Of course, not every perfume requires exactly the same maturation period.

Now, regarding your question about **Orris Butter Absolute**:

There are **IFRA restrictions/usage limitations for certain applications**, so the exact material and its current supplier documentation need to be checked rather than simply calling Orris Butter “banned.”

However, from a perfumery and business perspective, one of the bigger challenges with natural Orris Butter is **consistent long-term sourcing**. Maintaining the same quality, olfactory profile, availability, and price can be difficult. If the material becomes unavailable or significantly more expensive, it can directly affect consistency and the customer's experience.

There are still a few French brands that work with Orris Butter, but some perfumers also use *reconstructions* designed to reproduce the characteristic scent and texture of natural Orris while providing better consistency and supply stability.

And honestly, I think your compound may be using a reconstruction as well, because it seems to capture many of the characteristics of the original material quite nicely.
