After replacing the axles on our travel trailer, there was really only one way to find out if we could trust our camper again — hit the road.
But first, we wanted to answer another big question: how much does our travel trailer actually weigh when we're fully loaded for a trip? We headed to a CAT Scale to find out before pointing the truck west and beginning a 1,100+ mile road trip with brand-new RV axles underneath us.
Along the way, we tracked our mileage, fuel costs and gas stops while keeping an eye on the new trailer axles and lug nuts. But somewhere along the way, this stopped feeling like a test. We found an incredible free campsite, took an unexpected detour onto Route 66, watched the landscape change as we headed west, and eventually made it to Colorado.
After more than a month of dealing with a broken camper, we were finally able to stop worrying about what might go wrong next and get back to why we started RV travel in the first place — actually having the adventure.
And we had no idea yet just how far this road trip was going to take us…
Our mission at Chase Your Adventure is to inspire you to get out there, explore more, and chase the adventures that make life worth living.
