I ride my 2022 T120 everyday as a commuter through all weather, and still want to ride it on weekends through the hills of South Australia. It’s an allrounder. When you still want to ride your commuter bike on weekends, you know you have the perfect wheels.
Bought my T120 in early 2019 and it's not once fallen short of my expectations. The characterful engine, refined controls, best feeling transmission on the market, comfortable upright riding position with 90-degree bend at the knees, solid, rattle-free build and brisk, torquey acceleration all combine to feel how you've always envisioned a motorcycle should (but in reality too many machines don't). In short, it's the ideal companion for a perfect ride on a gorgeous day.
Agree, love my T120! One of the writers at the Australian 2016 press launch of the T120 perhaps described it best. Comparing the T120 to the earlier air-cooled Triumphs he said: "Everything you liked is better. Everything you didn't like is gone.".
Solid New England sensibilities here: "other people like spending your money", "Drive it for 1000 miles to decide if you like it", "I wouldn't waste my money replacing the tires"... love it! Huge fan of Triumphs, nice review.
Bought my 2021 T120 back in July of 2021…..it’s a workhouse. It is the first bike I’ve ever owned, and I knew full well that I don’t waste money on toys that can’t work. This bike has all the torque and HP for the Nebraska winds, rural By-ways, and 85 mph highways (with touring fly screen). It works great carrying my daughter as we cruise, or my double saddle bags, tail bag, tank bag, and top box after a larger Costco run. It looks and sounds great pulling up to a client’s house, while also providing the fuel economy that shows that I’m smart about parking the diesel F350 unless that tool is needed.
It is a beautiful bike. I might as well be invisible when my wife and I ride together since she’s on her Army green Triumph Bobber with CAT delete, gold chain, hanging bar end mirrors, quilted brown seat, and Fox shock….not to mention her long blonde hair hanging out of the back of her helmet….but I don’t mind…I took care of my best girl getting her the bike she loves, and making sure my bike carry’s everything we need for work, our personal runs around town, and our rural road trips.
Being new riders in our 50’s, we have to love our toys, without giving the state any more sales tax money than necessary….we buy what we love, once, and keep it. We will add 2 true cruisers in a year or two (everything comes in twos for us since she is not the passenger type), but can’t let my girl suffer on a multiple day road trip to Arkansas on a Bobber.
Very sound advice and a lovely bike. There is a reason why the after market kit manufacturers provide their wares to certain bike vloggers 😀 Guy next door to me has a Royal Enfield Himalayan and not long after he bought it was telling me he was going to change this and that which goes to show the power of YouTube reviews and social media comments.
Picked up my 2022 T120 Black and absolutely love it. I'm returning to riding after a 30 year family break and this bike is great. I did change the exhaust for some predator pro slip-ons and they really wake up the bike. Very pleased so far.
whow what beautiful roads and country side you live in (I'm from the uk) Just subscribed to your channel and love your enthusiasm for motorbikes, can't believe you don't have more subscribers but I'm sure with time this will happen.
I totally agree with you on 99% of your comments! I see people comment they "love the look at this bike so much they just HAD to buy one", and then a year later, they've made so many modifications to the bike it no longer looks like the bike they purchased! Totally agree with you on the tires--tired of hearing they are "garbage". And yes, I agree there are better tires out there, but why spend $500+ on tires to replace brand new tires??? The only modifications I've made to my bike are adding spacers to the throttle (eliminates the small play in it), and Triumph Brand heated grips.
i am one of the younger riders that is blessed to own this beautiful machine, the t120. one thing that scares me about it is that i can envision myself buying the same thing again down the road.
the timeless look and torquey engine are two things that i can't just get enough of. the grunt of the stock euro 5 exhaust is also very pleasant. last but not least, it is incredibly practical. it's spacious enough for a pillion and it's very much capable of city riding because it's not too big for lane filtering.
I have the exact bike in the same color. 2020 t120. I've had all the japenese bikes, ducati and a classic triumph t140 1977 as well as having ridden friends ninjas and harley davidsons. I've enjoyed them all but must say my 2020 bonnie is the most perfect machine I've ever operated in evry way. Torque, power, balance, handling, comfort and of course stunning good looks. Since purchase I have not modified a single thing though I am going to break down and order a very small dart windscreen and I do want some classic looking leather saddlebags. Also I am going to invest in cruise control as that did not come with bike when i bought it. At my age my hands start to give me problems after 3 or more hours riding, it would be nice to take my hand off the throttle now and again. That being said the only complaint is from day one I hated the stock pirellis tires. Even when new I never felt safe leaning into hard curves and never liked the feel. within days of buying the bike I spent 600.00 on new Metzler roadtechs and it completley changed my riding experience. Anyone considering a t120 i would say you could not find a better bike. I've always had several bikes in the stable but I no longer see the point. I could never imagine choosing to ride another bike when my bonnie is there. Ride safe evryone and keep the shiney side up!
Man I miss those New England roads. There is nothing like them in the southwest. I agree too many people mod before they know what they are riding. A few weeks ago I picked up a 2017 T100 with 7K miles on it. Serviced everything but the coolant and brake fluid (soon) and I put the Pirellis back on. They are a great tire. They also were about the only available at the time. I bought the T100 to be a commuter and a simple bike like I used to ride 40 or so years ago. My 1090 does too much for me. The Bonneville is not bad on somewhat maintained dirt roads. I have about a 1ile or so of dirt to get to the pavement. It does well enough to ride on forest roads. Be safe and watch out for that sand leftover from winter.

My advice on buying a bike, would I buy this bike again and would I recommend it?
