Triumph Bonneville T100 2026 review. After living with the bike for two weeks, I’ve finally got a proper answer to the question: is it actually as good to live with as it is to fall in love with?

I’ve ridden the T100 around town, down back roads, on motorways, through the Lake District, over Kirkstone Pass and loaded it with camping gear to find out what it’s really like to live with.

In this review, I cover the 2026 updates, styling, comfort, technology, the 900cc engine, real-world performance, fuel economy, handling, brakes, what I love, what I don’t, and whether I’d actually spend my own money on one.

I also put it through my new 30–70 mph real world acceleration test.

In 2023, I went to the local Triumph dealer to look at a used T100, all black, low miles, good price. They had a new T120 in white and blue. Dual front brakes, gators, and lots of shiny bits the T100 doesn't have. Twice as much money, but I couldn't pass it up, and I've never regretted it. The Bonneville is my last new bike, and as I age out of riding (soon), it will be on display in my house until I pass on. I started riding many years ago on a Triumph Bonneville, and I'll finish on one. Yes, it's that good....

I have just bought the very same bike, inspired in part by Jack. Same colour. There is nothing I don't like about it. 5ft 6 and I can flat foot it. I may put some bar risers on it but that can wait. I had a Tiger 800 and that was great but this is the pure enjoyment of riding a motorbike. I test rode a T120 but, for me, this is better. Stripped back, no frills but real quality and a breeze to ride. And the sound is amazing! An absolute joy to ride, especially on country lanes. I have wanted a Bonneville sInce was 16. It took me 56 years to get one. I can hardly believe my luck. Already planning a trip to the French Alps on it next summer.

I took T100 for a test ride 2 weeks ago. I have BMW F800ST and been for some time now wanting to buy an addition to my garage - classic style bike like RE or Bonnie. I am 5ft 5 and was nearly flat foot, sitting on it. Liked very much to be sitting upright though I would still put the handle bar risers for more comfort. Realy loved the feeling of the Bonnie on my ride. Sounds fantastic, pools good, I did not feel I needed 6 gear, very easy filtering in town traffic, light but planted while on the go... and I felt like I am again a young kid on a bike which looks like what a bike should look like. I had JAVA 350 (Czechoslovakian, back then) when I was a kid as my first bike. Would love to hear your opinion on T120 too. Thank you for your enthusiastic reviews, much appreciated 👍🙏

I have a 2021 T100 Bonneville, and I love it. It does everything I need it to do, it looks great and is a pleasure to ride. Acceleration is fine and TBH it's fast enough for a bike with tubed tyres! The bike certainly turns heads and it's had plenty of compliments so far. Lots of accessories are available, and it would be easy to spend a fortune on extras (I have to rein myself in) but the two I would definitely recommend are a Centre Stand and the Comfort Seat. Great review Jack, and I'm glad you like the bike.

I have had a go on a newer T100 and it is a very nice nice bike, very refined compared to my 2013 T100 which is air cooled with no electronics except for fuel injection and feels a bit rawer. Personally I prefer the older models, but thats just my opinion, been biking since 78 so used to not having the gadgets and feeling the road through the bike.

The Achilles heel of these Triumphs is the shifter shaft on the left hand side of the bike, if you drop it even on a stand still there is a risk to bend the fork at the end of the shaft thus making changing gear sometimes impossible and it would need a replacement. Open the side casing, clutch out, including basket and you can replace the shaft.

The StreetTwins later SpeedTwins and T100 definetley suffer from this, the scrambler perhaps are less prone to this because usually the owners install a lower crash bar, so that might help.

I love Triumph bikes. Got a Speed Triple. Had a T100. Nothing wrong with it but never gelled with it. Now got a Continental GT650. So much better

Brilliant review of the T100 and i agree completely. I have 2020 t100, bought after test riding t120 and 900 street twin. The t100 was by far the most suitable for me. The t120 was snatchy and i didn't need the 6th gear. I wasn't after a race bike, i wanted something with elegance and practicality. Why buy a bike and then spend a fortune on altering it. Buy a bike that suits your needs and my t100 is perfect. The t100 is not a race bike, its fantastic as it is and the best form of meditation ive ever had. I dont need upgraded brakes etc, just ride it how it is as its perfect already 😊
