"if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too." That is so relevant nowadays where de-humanizing others for being different is a disease. Anyway, it's arguably the best sequel ever made and a true classic. Thanks for reacting and looking forward to more movie gems

Legendary classic. Two scenes that you thought was CGI, actually wasnt. The first being the future war scene. It was all done with real footage, rear projection backgrounds, optical laser effects, animatronics, and minatures. The second is the scene were the T1000 forms back together after being frozen. That wasnt CGI, but real mercury. They made it look like it was moving back together, by blowing an hair dryer at the various droplets of mercury. That's why it looked real, because it was. This film is legendary for so many reasons, and the mix of real and CGI is one of them.

I always cry at the scene where Sarah is at the elevator in the institution thinking she’s on the verge of getting away only to see the elevator doors open with the Terminator and his signature pump shotgun. Linda Hamilton does a masterful job with that reaction, and we get all the tension/trauma from the first movie without a single flashback. It’s horrifying and heartbreaking and soul-crushing then turns bittersweet when we the T800 utters the same line as her son’s father, “Come with me if you want to live.” 😭Ugh. Gets me every time.

This Film is a Legend when the Terminator says I know now why you cry.....

The "i need a vacation" line was totally improvised not scripted

Maybe Fun Fact: According to nuclear bomb experts, the portrayal of the nuclear bomb going off in LA in this movie is still to this day the most realistic portrayal of a nuke on a city ever shown in any fictional movie ever.

Also, the special effects for the liquid metal T-1000 were tested and refined by Cameron's effects teams on the movie The Abyss that was released in 1989. It does not look like you folks have reacted to that, so if either of you has not seen The Abyss, it would be a great movie for a reaction. Two things...if you react to it, make sure you react to the Special Edition since it has extra scenes that make the whole movie make a lot more sense. Also, be prepared for some of the MOST emotionally charged scenes you will ever see in any movie, and know that the making of the movie was so hard on the entire cast and crew that the documentary about the making of The Abyss is almost a must see after you watch the movie...you could get a whole other reaction out of that documentary. LOL

Oh...and that move with the lever action gun that Arnold was doing that you commented on is known as "spin cocking." 😁

You didn't show the reaction to Arnie saying, "Get down" and then shooting the other Terminator instead of John? That's the best moment for those that don't know he's the good one! This movie is soooooooo good. To tear up at the end is a testament to how amazing it is. Action movies rarely have any sort of character development or emotional impact. Phenomenal movie.

the look terminator gives sarah after he checks dysons wounds says it all

The actor who played John's foster mom is also tough, muscular Private Vasquez in Aliens, a vampire in Near Dark, the steerage-class Irish mother in Titanic, the cop on the diving board in Lethal Weapon 2, and Enterprise science officer in Star Trek Generations. Such a versatile and talented chameleon!

Scientists say the nuclear attack dream sequence is the most accurate film depiction.

Remember Sarah in the first said about kyle they only had a little time together but loved a lifetime, john kinda had the same with that T-800 he sent back. who thought you would shed a tear for a killing machine, so cool : D

Aliens, T-2, Top Gun Maverick, Army of Darkness all show that sometimes sequels can buck the cliche of "sequilitis" (sequels getting progressively worse), if the people working on them really set out and are committed to making a good movie.

He cant feel phisical pain more like he processes that he is sustaining damage.

Robert Patrick trained hard to run fast while breathing only through his nose so that it looked like he wasn't breathing at all. Some takes were ruined because he easily overtook the motorbike and had to slow down a bit.

Also, the motorcycle jump scene with the truck had a stunt driver wearing an Arnold mask.

"John" grew so fast they had to dig a trench for Linda Hamilton to walk in to keep her height difference in later shooting. They also had to electronically alter his voice after it started deepening during filming.

A very overlooked thing about the greates movies, is that they keep evolving as the media evolves. For example, I remember watching Gladiator only once at the cinema, from there it was nothing but DVD or SD TV from open tv broadcasts. Same with Terminator. But now, for example Gladiator has just their new HDR 4K release, which really makes you feel the movie again. Shawshank Redemption also has incredible HDR effects. Terminator has multiple releases but as far as I know there isn't yet a definitive HDR 4K of it. There are multiple Blu Ray releases each with pros and cons.
For me, buying an HDR TV has been a nice trip into the "rediscover" movies phase.
