What a field. What a race. I was at the stadium that day. 45.33 only good enough for 5th
I still have the programme
I watched the UK championships in Manchester in July 2023 - won in 45.9!

Roger Black, what a legend. The 90s were great.

That field is absolutely stacked...

That is one great lineup. That's when we had so much depth in 400m racing

When gb had real strength in the 400m.

1996 was the peak of GB 400 running:
Black 44.37
Richardson 44.52
Baulch 44.57
Ladejo 44.66
Thomas 44.66A & 44.69

The talent Britain had back then over the 400 meters was obscene.

What a line up. Jesus how the talent has dropped off a cliff in U.K. men’s 400m

Guy Bullock’s 45.76 would have won the 2023 British championships - it’s a shame as a European junior champion didn’t get there in the seniors - what happened to him anyone ?

Such a pity that Baulch had a rush of blood in the 4x4 in Atlanta... We could've got gold with that line-up with a more level-headed approach.

No Herts athletics teams scouting at regional schools championships this year. Why? Safeguarding.
How are they supposed to identify the future talent?
