Explore the story of the Blackburn Buccaneer, one of Britain’s greatest low-level strike aircraft. Designed to counter the Soviet Sverdlov-class cruiser threat, the Buccaneer served with distinction in the Royal Navy and RAF for three decades.
This episode follows its development, carrier trials, powerful Spey-powered upgrade, Cold War maritime strike role, service with South Africa, and later RAF operations — including its unexpected combat debut during the Gulf War as a laser-designation aircraft.
A tribute to the last completely British bomber and a true icon of post-war aviation.
