Seo taji is the father of kpop, and he passed the torch to BTS. He even allowed them to do his famous song "come back home" cause he knows how insanely talented they are, and that they will continue what he started.

Seo taji did his 25th anniversary concert in 2017 and he invited bts as guest to perform with him  and he passed torch to bts

BTS LITERALLY CONTRIBUTES TO KOREA GDP, that alone is answer how much their impact is

Hold onto DKDKTV as a reference for almost everything BTS!!! They go into detail, not only the translated lyrics to English, but EXPLAIN THE CULTURAL REFERENCES TO BTS’S SONGS!!!! So songs you thought were cute and catchy, like the rap line's Ddaeng and the group's Baepsae (Silver Spoon), take on a more darker meaning!!!! BTS's lyrics are genuine, nuanced, intellectual, and thought provoking!!!! If you have any questions about the meaning of a BTS song, look to DKDKTV Explanation of BTS lyrics first!!!!

10:04 bighit was near bankruptcy in    2013 bts debut now in 2026 bighit (hybe) was worlds top 10 music companys
Reason- Bts

.....AND THE BIG 3, because they accounted for 95+% of K-pop revenues, they had an extreme amount of INFLUENCE over politics, music industry laws, and ALL OF KOREAN MEDIA, which decided HOW AND WHEN ANY IDOL GROUP COULD ACTUALLY DEBUT ON ANY SHOW!!!! The Big 3 totally, without question, used their influence to block, blacklist and even cut BTS from scheduled appearances!!!! This was in part because BigHit CEO Bang PD, aka songwriter and producer "hitman" Bang, used to work for the Big 3 and they resented him trying to start up his own company!! Also, it was an open secret, during several NEAR BANKRUPTCIES before BTS's debut, Bang REFUSED to sell BigHit and BTS to any of the Big 3 to resolve his money issues!!!!

BigHit and BTS cut out ALL the middle men and basically marketed themselves, because they didnt have the budget to market themselves!! Just about ALL of the HATE stories originate from South Korea, which is sad!!!! To have discrimination grom your OWN PEOPLE, yet LOVE your country with all your heart!!!! To K-media, this was a slap in the face!! And to this day, K-media absolutely HATES BTS AND ESPECIALLY INTERNATIONAL ARMYS because we've made K-media irrelevant and obsolete!!!! BTS NEVER needed K-media then and WILL NEVER EVER need K-media!!!! K-media treated our beloved BTS members like 💩,  and this explains WHY some Armys cam be OVERPROTECTIVE and may seem toxic!!!! We're like don't even think about hurting our BTS!!!! 😅😅😂😂

As long as you continue to show your honest and genuine critique of what you review, Armys can and will respect YOUR OPINION!! Borahae 💜

kpop was a growing interest before BTS but it was mostly known in countries close to Korea, especially Japan who is still kpop's biggest consumer. BTS however experimented with their marketing strategies and became more known outside of korea than within korea at first and they are the first act to gain real attention in the west which is why we say "bts paved the way for kpop globally". they have a TON of new records now and their recent album ARIRANG is the biggest of 2026 so far. and the tour they are on now? insane, its already setting and breaking records and it just started, they are on tour until next year, more than 80 dates, all stadiums across multiple continents.

something not mentioned in this video is that BTS changed kpop more than some like to admit. if you are interested in this, watch a video from boracity magazine called "bts paved the way for kpop".

in short, bts created the "marketing strategy" we see NOW in kpop. labels turned it into a strategy, for bts is was just them trying to survive in the industry and trying to promote themselves (again, if you are curious about this boracity has 2 videos about it, "trends bts started")

Please react to Rise of Bangtan, documentary series found on YouTube created by ARMY

REACT TO BIGBANG. They recently came back from hiatus! It's their 20th anniversary this year and they are starting to tour again soon. When reacting to their music videos, take note of the date of the release. It's crazy how their music is still so catchy and timeless after 10 years. Also, a note that they were active at a time where music videos do not have english subs

'Seo Taiji and Boys' were considered the 2Pac of kpop for their rebellious messages against the system and for speaking up about common and taboo topics in society. After them, Kpop definitely went through so many changes and styles, but only a few continue their legacy and it was mainly artists, not kpop idols because at some point it was oversaturated with so many groups debuting every year and the lack of originality (which still happens nowadays). But they saw something really special and unique on BTS , and that's why in their 25th-anniversary concert in 2017, Seo Taiji made a historic statement declaring BTS his official successors, saying, "This is your generation now."
It was so cool 🔥BTS is definitely something else. Their impact is insane and I'm not only talking about numbers but talking about cultural impact too. They are over the kpop industry and for a decade, they literally have broken historic records from the music industry in general, now becoming one of the biggest groups ever.

I'm so happy to be living in the same era as BTS! I just know they are going to be remembered as the kind of artists that reached the Legend title, such as The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Tupac Shakur & The Notorious B.I.G., Prince, Britney Spears, etc.

My history into K-pop started in 2009.

I give thanks to my sister who is younger, it was a KOREAN DRAMA: called Full House with the a singer called Rain which started a down hill of researching music by other artists: Boa, Big Bang and 2ne1 and so on so many of them, then I started reacting to YouTubers reacting to K-pop music.

THAT’S when I ran into BTS on a show called Mnet 2014 💜 reacting to YouTubers reacting to their on music video Boy in Love. What I felt watching them reacting was so genuine they had such a big impact on me from their honesty and how humble they were on that show and of course I got to hear their music Boy in love m.

Which began my journey and I never left been around and will continue into this BANGTAN SHIP 🚢

BTS IS ITS OWN GENRE!! BORAHAE 💜

So, kpop is an industry and I haven't seen a reactor watch a vedio about the kpop "industry". Way to go bud, you are doing your research

Glad you got to drink from this fire hose 😅 So now you know what idol music is. Here are some other things to know:

Leader = Group spokesperson
Main = Main vocalist or main dancer of a group
Lead = Supporting vocalist or dancer role
Hyung = Older brother, a Korean word used to describe an older male familiar to them
Sunbae = Experienced elder, a Korean word used to describe a person or group of people who have gone before you in their career or life calling.
Nim = added onto some of the above phrases to add extra respect

Example: BTS was invited by Seo Taiji to participate in one of his concerts. They referred to him as Seo Taiji sunbaenim but he gave them permission to call him hyung.

JYP  my goat😂😂

PLEASE CAN U REACT TO THEIR ALBUM LIKE “DARK AND WILD” OR “SCHOOL LOVE AFFAIR” with lyrics
But if u want of course

I’ve been into kpop since 2008 and kpop back then was catchy , cute and sexy and stuff but they lacked sincerity, originality, artistry and global marketing. BTS has all of it but more importantly, they are good people and that’s why they stand out and connected with so many army

I feel it is totally disrespectful to not acknowledge BTS as being K-POP.   K-POP is not a genre,  it is a music industry.   It literally means POPULAR MUSIC IN KOREA.

BTS are leaders in K-POP,  The K-POP invasion is well under way.   BECAUSE we Western people like their work DOES NOT make them any less K-POP.   They will NEVER outgrow K-POP,  they help define what K-POP is becoming. Trust me,   there are many groups in K-Pop that Western audiences absolutely love.

For me it is no different than saying ACDC has outgrown Australia and have now been Americanised.   Ridiculous.   I do believe you would NEVER hear BTS say they are no longer K-POP.   They are proud of their roots,  their foundation.   NEVER mess with a foundation.   Without that,  structures crumble into something unrecognisable.

Pointing out K-Pop's "versatility" is pointless because that is just like saying the American pop industry or music industry from the USA is versatile. K-Pop is just an industry or a system of content, such as music, choreography, music videos, fashion, fan culture, fashion, visuals, roles/positions, the Korean culture itself, so it is not really a genre, it does not really say what type of song they would put out. I can pick two songs that are "K-Pop" that has very different sounds and you will see how the term "K-Pop" fails to describe the genre of both of them, it just becomes not definitive. That is why it is best to describe K-Pop as an industry or a system of content.

Oh my-I recommend for you to watch this in your first reaction lol YIPEEE
