Just gotta get behind the lads and support them Al. It’s been a ridiculous couple of seasons, it’s so, so frustrating, but I reckon we’ll all be dancing together like we are in a late 70’s New York disco in a few weeks. Keep the faith! COYS
At least we've not conceded in 2 games 😂. Was impressed with Robertson yesterday, endless energy, but no one was there to meet his crosses.. Tonali I felt did well, wasn't too many bad passes from him. Felt Van Hecke and VDV looked solid. We went flat with the 3 subs towards the end. It'll come.
Defence and midfield have become settled units and look much better now. Once we get a settled attacking unit things will gel properly and we will be a good team.
I don't get the boos at the end. There were plenty of positives. A lot of the fans, pre season, were calling for patience. What is the guage for that? One game? It will take a lot longer than that. People need to chill.
Score when we wanna, We only score when we wanna! Seriously though, two clean sheets in a row and some of the build-up play yesterday was great. Patience. Those goals will come.
Thanks, Alli. The media is loving our struggles imo. They kept showing the fans with the sign “please score a goal” and insisted that the entire stadium booed at the end of the game. I saw our fans clapping the team, but only briefly since they preferred to show the negative on screen to help their narrative. Our fans were terrific in my opinion. It’s clear that we will need to continue ramping up the support at home to help the players keep pushing. I understand changes are needed but this is a cup match we need to try and win since we’re not in Europe. Richy should be in contention if he can play in the cup tie. He can get on crosses into the box even though he’s a difficult character to understand. I’ll take the clean sheet but we need more shots to get those goals which will come. Thanks again. COYS.
Despite the lack of wins and goals, to me we seem very close to unlocking everything. We’ve been pretty solid at the back and the midfield is working nicely and yesterday it seemed like we was afraid to shoot when the opportunities was there.
Hello Ali Gold! Thanks for another quality and balanced reporting video. As a fan, I really appreciate a journalist putting so much effort into the club he/she covers. For me, despite not being able to score, we look much improved in the defence and in the midfield. Jon Mackenzie did an analysis on Roberto De Zerbi's tactics against that of Matthias Jaissle and he called the former high ceiling lower floor and the reverse for the latter. In other words, until the team click for De Zerbi ball, the performance could be *beep*, and when they click the results would be great (historically, that's the case at Brighton and Shakhtar). As much as everyone being been sick and tired of the recent results (myself included), if you look at the glaring problem of no scoring, you will see: Sávio and Marmoush joined at the tail end of the transfer window, Dom and Kudus just came back from long term injury, Maddison is not fully fit, Richie does what Richie does, and Romero (scorer of important goals last season) is gone, Tel is still a raw talent who needs coaching. Let's not forget, it's only 4 league games. When Chelsea and Man City first spent big, similar situations (not living up to the expectation) happened to them as well. Real Madrid had spells like that too. They were the money-ball banter clubs at the time, but when things start to work, no one joked about them anymore. I am happy that the new management of the club is taking positive actions and backing the manager. It seems that it is going to take time to see the impacts (remember Martin Jol?) Anyway, sorry about a long passage. Been a long time since I last commented. Had my pre-season holiday in Japan and got to take a selfie with Mt. Fuji in my Tottenham shirt (#10 Kane). Now back to a frantic season in my line of work. Thankfully, I have been scoring. Have a good rest over the weekend. Let's hope for the best (Richie might score against Liverpool)! COME ON YOU SPURS!
I understand the frustration and general panic after the last two seasons but it was obvious it was going to take around ten games to get up and running. We have improved in every game which is the important thing. I thought we were brilliant in the first half an hour - just missing that final cutting edge at the moment.
I saw your asking for the Italian word. This is the exact kind of attention to detail journalism that makes Tottenham bearable for us! Thanks Ali, like always!
