I would love to see you react to basically every video oversimplified made. Plus I think your fans would love that too

"Churchill? I've heard that name"

Oh... it's gonna be THAT kind of reaction...

16:19 “they never got Ethiopia” in the scramble for Africa. This is World War II, where they absolutely got Ethiopia.

12:44

My high school history teacher actually explained how the Nazis viewed the different races through the Nuremberg Laws. First up is of course the Aryans, the Übermensch; tall blonde blue-eyed Germanic peoples. Then below them are the 'Culture Creators', non-Aryan Germans, Nordics, etc. Below them are 'Culture Carriers' like Hungarians. And then the absolute worst in their eyes were the 'Culture Destroyers', the Untermensch; Jews, Slavs, blacks, homosexuals, communists and whatever other group of 'undesirables' comes to mind. This latter group was the one that the Nazis aimed to systematically eradicate on an industrial scale.

8:15 President Hindenburg was an old veteran of WWI who was desperately trying to avoid a civil war or total collapse of Germany. He made hitler chancellor because his party was becoming extremely popular and he believed it was the only way to maintain Germany stable

Keep in mind that European leaders chose appeasement when dealing with Hitler because WW1 was still fresh in most people's minds at the time, and that war was so destructive that they were willing to do anything to avoid a repeat, even giving a clearly hostile imperialist everything he wanted. Now, in hindsight, we know that that strategy was freaking stupid, but times were different back then.

Russia losing to Japan (it was a war staged to win support already) was actually one of the actual last nails in the coffin of Russian Empire before Soviet revolution (the other being Russian army gunning down pacifist protest led by priest)

14:59 yes. That was an actual strategy that we call now Appeasement. It was an attempt to satisfy Hitler's ambitions without having him go any further or risk going to war as thanks to the Treaty of Versaille and the formation of the League of Nations, it was agreed that war was NEVER to happen again. The human cost alone in the Great War was so great, Britain wanted to maintain peace by almost any other cost. It failed spectacularly, of course, because some people will not be satisfied with only a slice. They will take it all if they can get away with it, thus leading to the greatest global conflict in human history.

8:00 The president of Germany made him Chancellor because he figured he could control mustache man and benefit off of his popularity. History shows how utterly wrong he was

12:30 it looks like Mustache Man is saying he wants Sunny and that's amusing to me

Some people already commented about the ludicrous myths Germans based their "supremacy" on, it is not science, but they sure tried to make it one. High ranking officers, coerced "scientist", actually occultists tried to proof all that. But even for Mr. H that was a backup plan, he never even believed those hacks. Might find some more info from the "Thule Society" from Extra History vids, they are also the antagonists in Indiana Jones and Hellboy.

'Blitzkreig' is what is known as Combined-Arms warfare, where infantry, aircraft, and tanks work in tandem to make rapid captures of enemy territory and defeat enemy troops in quick succession. The term itself was invented by the British propaganda office to make the Germans sound scarier to drum up recruitment, there is nothing distinct about Blitzkrieg from regular Combined-Arms Warfare save for the name.

12:15 essentially; the actual definition fluctuated and has been further lost to time, and really isn't that important. What was important to the angry windmill party was convincing everyone in Germany that they were more special and had some inherent right to be in control of everyone else's land.
Basically it was to justify and get people on board with an "Us vs Them" mentality.
12:45 this is a pretty good example in the inconsistency of that definition; the "blonde and blue eyed" thing was mentioned sometimes, but often wasn't, and more came from the weird adoption of Norse mythos of the more extreme and crazy people in the angry windmill party.
13:05 "Do they have any research-'" Lol, Lmao, no they didn't have any research backing any of it! Unless you count literal tin-foil hat ancient aliens pinboard logic (No, really, A LOT of the ancient aliens stuff comes from the """research""" done by the angry windmill party).

21:50 "Blitzkrieg" is a catchy "new" name for an old thing- "Bewegungskrieg" or "war of movement" adapted for the (then) modern time.
Essentially, post WWI people (namely the Brits) had experimented with the idea of motorized and mechanized warfare. The Germans, though they were prohibited from building their army back, had been watching these experiments, and worked hard to try and implement the idea into their doctrine once the mustache man was ignoring the Treaty of Versailles.
The thing is, they weren't even fully mechanized or even motorized that much by the time of The Battle of France (or even during the war as a whole), but because they had a few units that were (and because the French command and control was so awful), once they broke through the French lines in the Ardennes those units were able to move faster than most French forces. This was also in large part because the British (who were entirely mechanized and motorized) and mechanized French forces were tied down fighting German Forces back in Belgium. The thing about refugees was a small thing but they basically ensured a lot of the roads in and out of Belgium were clogged with traffic.

The big thing to take away is that the Germans didn't "invent" blitzkrieg. In fact the term itself was invented by British journalists later, after the Battle of France.

8:15 You're pretty close! Hitler was made the Chancellor after the previous chancellors, Von Papen and Schleicher, failed to deal with the great depression. Now, Von Papen had an unfortunate combination of personality traits, being that he was power hungry, but also fucking useless, and was sacked. He went to Hindenburg (who did not like Hitler very much) and made a deal to make Hitler the Chancellor and Von Papen the Vice Chancellor, thinking, "we can control him." Famous last words if you ask me, but I'm not the leader of Germany. So Hitler became the chancellor, but to establish his dictatorship, he needed to be president. So after various political shenanigans (and one straight-up illegal incident), he pressured President Hindenburg, who was ON HIS DEATHBED AND DRIFTING IN AND OUT OF CONSCIOUSNESS, to name him successor right before he died.

8:19 so this is for sunny cause while oversimplified does it well it lacks context for obvious reasons, the whole reason Hindenburg made him chancellor is because the people loved him and with that he though him and the party could control hitler to control the people…. WELLLLLL…. Boom bang things happen the party took over and bad things happened the end

Reminder that Sunny has lived under a rock almost her entire life up until like a year or so ago so don't be too flabbergasted at her lack of knowledge about.... like everything.

Also her memory retention is dog so

I dont know why but the Sunny in the thumbnail and her look of concern is just so damn funny to me ^^

8:05 German Parliamentary elections were held, and even though Hitler got just one third of the votes, there were enough OTHER political parties that it was enough for the Nazis to have the majority of seats. As leader of his party, that made him leader of the government, and through a deal with the other conservative party, it put him at over 50% and Hindenburg had no choice but to make Hitler Chancellor and leader of Germany. It was definitely under duress.

17:08 for those who don’t know about this incident, it’s generally believed that the amount of murders during the Massacre of Nanking is around the same number of victims in the atomic bombings. The stories of what the Japanese did is genuinely stomach turning and paints a vivid picture of how cruel Imperial Japan was to the nations they occupied.

Nanjing was just the worst thing imaginable. The Japanese took pictures of their soldiers smiling and laughing while holding their rifles. Rifles with bayonets equipped impaling newborn babies.
