I guess the logic is like this:
1. there's hierarchy
2. in most scenarios, you can move to a higher hierarchy if you are smart enough/ working hard for youself (not for your job)
Therefore, everyone bears a responsibility to himself to move up.

One of the most important points Prof. Wolff brought up in this talk is the spillover effect, I think we have too many of these so called "experts" that are no doubt elites in their own respective fields but when they venture out of their area of expertise they tend to portray the same level of competence as if they really know what they're talking about. An example of this would be Jordan Peterson (his area of expertise is psychology) debating with philosophers such as Slavoj Zizek and expecting to be on par with him, it's ridiculous really because he lacked the fundamental background knowledge to build up his argument in the first place and so his arguments seemed flimsy and shallow, no matter how much he dressed them up in his usual complicated sophistry.

Thank you ...

Naturally people tend to organise themselves into hierarchies anyway no? So if you abolish hierarchy, all you’re doing is creating confusion and allowing inexplicit power games to happen. Especially in workplaces (my experience)

To see how well equality works, look at any utopian community throughout history. Then turn and look at Communism. Theory is fabulous; practice, not so much. (Access to a superior education and available work are good starts.)
