You have my respect for your attempted rescue of John Jones. I couldn't imagine how horrible that day must have been for everyone involved.

Seeing it like this I understand how difficult it was to try to get him out.

Always thought Brandon was part of Utah's Rescue teams or something, but it looks like he was just a well known local caver and cartographer who volunteered to go there and help them because he knew the cave better than most people, what a legend, even if they weren't able to save him the attempt was valiant and though i'm way too large to ever even dream of attempting this kind of thing i'm fascinated by the people who do and the stories they have to tell.
I'm amazed how people manage to navigate inside these caves it all looks exactly the same to me, Brandon goes "see, that rock we were there before" and i'm like "were we?"

Seeing John's final resting place was more terrifying than any horror I've seen

I’m seeing a lot of tripping hazards and narrow passageways limiting egress in the event of fire. Installing an escalator would resolve a lot of your issues.

aside from your real life experience with the cave its honestly just refreshing to hear somebody with a love for caving talk about this

I admire your courage and bravery for trying to help John.

Sorry, but I’d instantly bail if the cave I was diving had the name “The Birth Canal”

32:20 I've read and looked at diagrams/maps of the tragedy dozens of times, but nothing has made me understand the horror of what he went through quite like this.

Sending kids in entirely unsupervised should have been considered as gross negligence at best. Criminal endangerment in reality.

Im on my second asthma inhaler and third oxygen tank just watching this.

A few years ago, I and my dad crouch-walked about 60m (200ft) through a culvert under a motorway - a pipe about a metre in diameter - just to save some time from having to walk a mile to the nearest at-grade crossing point.
At first, we made good progress, but about halfway along the pipe, my legs and back started to ache, and I began having all these intrusive anxious thoughts about 'stagnant air' that might cause me to suffocate, or the weight of the traffic above crushing the pipe, or that perhaps it was better to turn around and come back etc.
The last fifth or so of the pipe was filled with about a foot of mud, water and leaves which made our exit slower and more arduous, and the anxiety and panic only increased.
After we made it out the other side, I realised that caving was definitely not on my bucket list - but I had an understanding for how people get themselves into tough situations.
When we first looked at the culvert, it seemed eminently doable. It wasn't a squeeze; compared to a cave it was spacious. But after having gone through the unanticipated mental strain as well as underestimating the physical strain of this seemingly mundane task, it reinforced the idea that cautiousness outweighs confidence when it comes to safety.

who else is here after seeing the footage released by EWU? horrifying stuff. major respect to this channel owner and all the brave people who took part in the attempted rescue of John

I have a lot of respect for you and your team's attempt to rescue John Jones.

RIP John Jones.

I quit caving the day I was born.

Spent years in a submarine.  I will never go in these kinds of caves.

I'm having panic attack just watching this.

I thought the crawl to Ed's Push was terrifying but holy hell is Aorta Crawl part giving me sweaty palms watching from my phone screen...

We really got 3D VR Nutty Putty before we got GTA6. These are amazing insights, really enjoyed the video.

Man if there aren’t lights, the ability to walk upright, then I ain’t going into that cave.
