Who remembers the Animations cafe on the 6th floor from back in the 90s? It was always busy.

When you don't pay someone who wins a 2 million jackpot, you DESERVE to go under.

My father did legal work for Bally's during the 80s, and it was very much a destination then and for a good while afterward. There's a commercial here on YouTube that aired constantly in the early 80s featuring a bunch of sports legends having the time of their lives at Bally's, including Johnny Unitas and Brooks Robinson. Sounds a little crazy since they were from Baltimore, but it actually makes sense because if you wanted to gamble at the time, it was basically Nevada or AC, and they were targeting customers up and down the East Coast. It really was AC in its heyday. I think they even used to stage boxing matches there.

Later, the Wild West was also quite significant because, when it opened in '97, it was the most notable addition to AC between the Taj Mahal's opening in '90 and the Borgata's in '03. There was a big opening ceremony with the governor and other dignitaries. (There may be something in between I'm overlooking.)

While not that optimistic, at least for sentimental reasons, I'd like to see it survive.

That center part of the boardwalk used to be the Crown Jewel of AC. Caesars, Bally's, Claridge, Trump Plaza, Boardwalk Hall, World's Fair. Man, what the heck happened?  It is a shame.

I used to stay there a lot many years ago because they use to send me comps to stay there.  For some reason they stopped sending me comps.  Then every since the ocean casino opened up they regularly send me com rooms Sunday to Thursday so now I go there.

just got back home from bally's two days ago.

It was literally empty three months ago when I was there and that’s so sad 😢

the only redeeming quality for Bally's Atlantic City is that they offer the best blackjack game in all of AC for walk-up players.  i.e. $25 minimum for a 6 deck, dealer stands on soft 17, double after split, resplit aces, and surrender, equivalent to the best 6 deck blackjack games offered on the Vegas Strip, generally in high limit.  In Atlantic City, you could get the equivalent game at Hard Rock, Ocean, or Borgata only by bringing at least 250k to the table (wire, cash, line of credit etc).

BALLY'S WAS MY SPOT BACK IN THE DAY

The area in the Dennis tower where u put the camera on the stick was the former total rewards card center

Ballys used to celebrate members birthdays with a free room and a big birthday party for you and a guest during your birthday month. The party was held in the ballroom and really was fantastic.

They need to open the hot tubs and the whole pool area should be open every day year round.

On the sentimental side..........I remember how the building has the BEST light up display (on the outside) back when the casinos spared no expense and they all had bright colorful displays on their buildings.  The different colors and configurations were always done in a spectacular, yet tasteful display.  Actually, I miss allllllll the "old heyday of AC."

Excellent tour, do more tours of the other casinos this was great the place end up going under used to go there in the 90s place was packed,

I miss the poker room in the back.  So many memories with my dad playing poker back in 2005-2013

Wow!! Back in the 80’s they got my first quarter I ever put in a slot machine! It was the first casino I ever went to…and they had a show called Evening at La Cage…

I visited Ballys  the day they opened to the public during their soft opening at the end of 1979 while on my honeymoon.  I think it’s improved lately since the ownership change.

❤Thank you

Just came back from Atlantic City… stayed at the Claridge… we had a great time… the busiest tables were in Oceans, Hard Rock, Resorts and Ballys

Nothing can't  beat the experience as in Showboat casino. The big loss in casino business since it was closed. I use to go to Showboat at least three times in a month, now 2 times in year in AC after that( may be). No fun anymore, no appreciation, no more feeling as a valuable customer, no more winnings as before...So sad...
