I can't wait to implement the Igem updates, it's what I live for! It makes my business so progressive and profitable! who are these people who dream up these regulations? Clearly people who've never got their hands dirty or tried to run a successful business! They make these unecessary changes to justify their existence, and provide little value to our industry! it's like a self licking ice cream!

I'm not a gas engineer, in fact I don't have a clue about any of this, but I wanted to come on here and mention that I had E-On round at mine the other day to fit a smart meter and as a result of these new instructions from IGEM I had my gas switched off. I was told that the level was perfectly acceptable last month but E-On are working to the new rules now so tough luck your gas is off. I'm sure you can imagine my reaction to that. I had to scramble for an emergency gas engineer who I phoned while the bloke from E-On was still in the middle of switching off the gas. I had him on loud speaker and without any prompting he started going on about how E-On were being totally over zealous and out of order!! Anyway, he came round the next day and for 10 minutes work charged me £90. I was just glad to get my gas back on. I've submitted the mother of all complaints to E-On and now waiting on their reply.

I love how every gas assessment centre doesn't have smart meters yet in the field it's all I come across and sometimes just finding the index is a headache 😣

Thank you Tom Kat, I have a Inspection on Tuesday your video and calc sheet have really helped, Gas engineer software have released a free calculator on their website which do these calcs in seconds so I will be bringing that along as well as your paper version.

Half day for tightness test

Gracie has done a cracking job with that chart . Can see me using it every day . Don't look forward to telling people they need new supply though. Its going to look like we're out to rob people 😂
