One honest note. The grace period after you withdraw permission is not a fixed number and I am not going to invent one. Lord Parker said a reasonable time, no doubt a very short time; Lord Diplock described it as the walk out of the front door, down the steps and out of the gate; and the Court of Appeal in 2016 said the period may be measured in minutes. That is as precise as the law gets, and anybody quoting you a number of seconds has made it up.

This is England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland run separate systems and the detail differs there.

If a night ever goes past the doorstep, the duty solicitor is free at every police station in England and Wales, at any hour, in person or on the telephone, and it is not means-tested. Ask for one before any interview and before you give any account of your evening.

Knowing whose permission an officer is standing on, and being able to say the sentence that takes it back, is exactly what Make Them Pay is built for.

I am a criminal-defence solicitor but I am not your solicitor, and nothing in this video is legal advice about your situation. This is England and Wales.
