More space wizards to the golden dialysis machine

Chaos Psykers being "safer" is like trying to avoid gang violence by joining the mafia.

Me when I find out Daemons weren't giving the type of Explosive Head that I thought

"Psyker? I hardly know 'er" I say before the Inquisition decides they'd rather just kill me than feed me to the corpse emperor

"I didn't ask how big the room was, I said I cast FIREBALL"

- some psyker before becoming a portal of bloodletters

Now I’m just imagining a group of Orks fighting, the Weirdboy makes the enemies explode, the Orks all burst into laughter, including the Weirdboy, then HIS head explodes, the other Orks stop laughing for a second, the Weirdboy’s body flops to the ground… and then the Orks start laughing even harder.

Eldar: launches the perfect fireballs.
Human psyker: creates a firestorm that destroys an enemy army, their head explodes, and Skarbrand appears.

In Son Of The Forest, a planetary governor brings out a Sanctioned Psyker to screen The Lion and check if he's not some demon impersonator. As soon as they meet, the Lion asks why the governor "hasn't executed this witch yet." The psyker declares Lion legit.

No inquisitor I did not blow up your pancakes with my mind

I am a great magician. Observe. :head explodes:

My interpretation of the power of belief is that it's a sort of grimdark cartoon logic. If it can realistically be handwaved and will simultaneously be funny for the reader and either shocking or just plain confusing for their enemy in-universe, then it works.

"Our ships are without atmosphere. Do orks... Breathe?"
A pause.
"They have lungs."

Psykers: i think therefore you aren't

"Do Orks Breath?"
".... they have lungs."
"That's not what I asked!"

GW definitely doesn’t do every bit of their lore well but really enjoy their “magic” system more than other IP’s. If you fail a cast of fireball it’s not “Darn, my spell fizzled”, you end up casting Testicular Torsion on all the guardsman around you or something equally horrible.

My headcanon for how ork psychic stuff works: Orks use a private server. Or Linux.
Other psykers generate little energy themselves, but can interface with the enormous psychic cloud server that is the warp to easily "download" whatever level of oomph they need. Orks internally generate the power themselves, which means they don't need to connect the normal warp server, instead the "great green" or "waaagh energy field" serves as a smaller local server which varies in strength based on the number and excitement of orks locally connected to it. Ork psykers CAN interface with the warp proper since they're still using compatible psychic energy, but they rarely do unless they want to operate a jump drive. Explosive miscasting is still a thing because the waaagh is janky and unstable, but orks virtually never summon demons because demons don't exist on their private networks. Generating your own private warp is inefficient as hell which is why you only see impressive ork psychic phenomena (even from weirdboyz) in massive frenzying hordes, but in those hordes they can do some of the weirdest possible stuff because they aren't subject to the typical restrictions the normal warp imposes.

Oh, and ork tech USUALLY works regardless of their psychic shenanigans or general stupidity because they have the same instinctive "genetic memory" engineering thing the old ones gave the jokaero, but how WELL it works and for how LONG will scale up with the waaagh field.

I just find it really funny slaanesh once put physical reality on pause so they could "um acktully" bile in a conversation, and when he didn't listen they basically shut down his internal workings and he was forced to revive himself. Psychic energy effects can alter time and space and distort them already but slaanesh literally bombed bile's innards for a bit.😂

I have been told there are psychic owlbears in the Tau empire and the fact there isn't a unit of those on the table top is a crime. That is all.

Fair enough to call the War in Heaven an Eldar win, you guys deserve it… by the way you’re welcome for making sure you didn’t end the war while still being the Old Ones’ attack weasels.

Now I want a Daemon Engines episode just so Pancreas can make the end joke be "Defiler? I hardly know her!"
