After you pause (completely understand) scroll back a bit when you start playing. That insures there isn't any real break.

David Gilmour doesn't "shred", but he's the master of expressive solos; intentionally making the listener feel emotions. You're the first reactors to this performance to pick up on what I always thought, that in the section after the mirrored ball lights up when he plays the very high notes and then the quick repeating chords, it's as if the guitar is speaking while sobbing and then hyperventilating. Well done!

Im 72 and it warms my heart that younger generations appreciate the music that ive loved my whole life...David Gilmours can make a guiter sing and cry like no other...anything from this concert is solid gold...try " Wish You Were Here " from the same concert...👍...actually this is the shorter version . This actual version was cut down by 2-3 minutes...

In Gilmour's big solo at the end of the song, notice how nobody in the audience is cheering or applauding. Until near the very end, they're all just quiet, listening intently, focused on the music. Almost like they were at a classical music concert. It's beautiful.

David Gilmour's heart and soul are released through his guitar. Every good guitar wants a David Gilmour for Christmas.

The things that are spinning on the stage next to David Gilmour the lead singer lead guitarist are called rotating Leslie speakers. The spinning gives the music a deep three-dimensional sound. During live shows Pink Floyd puts speakers on stage behind, above and on both sides of the audience. This basically creates a giant set of headphones for the audience to sit inside of for absolutely perfect sound!!

Rest In Peace Richard Wright, the master musician.

Pink Floyd had a wonderfully modest explanation for their amazing light shows. They said, "Well, we don't run around on stage. We just stand there and play. Actually, we're pretty boring to watch. So we thought we should give the audience something interesting to look at."

You are absolutely right.. David Gilmour does not just play the guitar he makes it cry

David Gilmour speaks more with his guitar than with his voice. It sounds like singing, crying, wailing, can be angry. He was a very wonderful voice, don't get my wrong, but his true voice is his guitar. Classical musicians and fans of the music get it, you don't need words to express what you are trying to say.

David Gilmour is not a guitar shredder but he can really make you feel the music of the guitar.

@
p3cubed This song appears on their 1979 album The Wall, which tells the story of a character named Pink—a troubled rock star who builds a metaphorical wall around himself to shut out the world.

Pink’s Breakdown: In the story, Pink is in a hotel room, emotionally and mentally detached. His management and a doctor arrive to inject him with drugs so he can perform despite his deteriorating state.

The song alternates between the doctor’s voice (sung by Waters) and Pink’s internal monologue (sung by Gilmour), highlighting the disconnect between external expectations and internal suffering.

Roger Waters’ Experience: Waters drew from a 1977 incident when he was injected with tranquilizers before a show due to severe illness. He described performing in a dissociated state, which inspired the song’s title and mood

The woman on the right is in the Floyd Zone, you can see it in her expression. Great song, David Gilmour is a master at emotionally playing that guitar
