Holly radio voice! I kept waiting for him to give us the silky smooth sounds of the 50’s,60’s,70’s and beyond!

First learned this from Jeff Jepson "Tree Climber's Companion" (published in 2000) Useful because less bulky then a water knot. The wire trick is great.

Sir, I am going to have to put this knot structure through a torturous towing test.  All this reminds me obliquely that a bowline (knot) can be tied inverted as well as straight away.  A very good skill to have.  Also, parenthetically, as Lofty Wiseman points out, the running bowline is not typically a safe lifeline rescue loop.  It is possibly good to often review bowline and running bowline at the same time while graphically illustrating the different functions.  “Strangle” obviously refers more to snaring than rescues.

This is what a master class looks like. ❤

I thought you were going to show the water knot, but I watched and now I see the light! Great job, excellent description. I understand now. While the water knot is great perfect for webbing, this is better and MORE suited for soft shackles in webbing. Think Chinese finger cuffs working to our advantage. Thanks! Now I think a beer is in order. Have one.

Another great video Andrew, I really like the knot tying videos.

Nice! Another cool tip. Your channel is a wealth of knowledge free for the willing; and you’re such an effective communicator and teacher of that information. Thank you for instructing us. I would really like to see HOWNOT2 test the breaking strength of this. (Beer Knot) on his break testers. Comparing it to other slings or It’d be real handy to make sling that’s “super good enough.” Instead of needing to buy a custom size or the need to bar tack it and triple stitch it. It would be informative for sure. I’m sure Ryan would readily test it. So much industry and professional crossover for people who use webbed slings daily.

I love that iconic song from your channel.  Thank you very much for brining it back!

Like everyone else, I assumed some variation of the water knot...but holy crap, never seen that before!  Can't do that hanging from the rock face but pretty slick regardless.

Thanks, Major, as always, another outstanding video nicely done my friend👍🏽💯🫡🫡

I doubt I would ever need this, but it was interesting. Thx for the vid Andy

Chordage and navigation videos are my favorite. Thumbs up :)

Good video Andrew, thanks for sharing, blessings

Really cool, never seen or heard of that knot, thanks Andrew

Definitely going to try my hand at this knot . Cheers and Carpe Diem major.🤙

Excellent one to know. Thanks.

Thank you

why paracord on the carabiner?

I've rock climbed, cliff rappelling and caving for years, I've used water knots most of the time. But I've never seen that knot. Thanks for showing me this, I'm going to start using these beer knots a lot more, now.
