enjoyable trip down memory lane.  I made a number of these at my first apartment in the 1970s,  I continue to enjoy Black Forest Cake for my birthday celebrations.

I remember old school for lunch time and I saw lovely call “ Manchester Tart”. 😊❤

We had gypsy tart up in East Yorkshire so it wasn't nationally unknown. It was my absolute favourite dessert at school. If I wasn't vegan I'd still be making it very often

Talks about Semolina pudding and proceeds to show two pictures of Tapioca pudding instead.  And Semolina is still widely available in shops it's never disappeared, and is used for lots of things other than a milk pudding., Gnocchi, English Muffins and is widely used to make a crispy coating on things such as roasted potatoes.   Blanc Mange is still available, it doesn't come in butterscotch that was Angel Delight, a mouse not a Blanc Mange, which is a set custard like thing much denser not fluffy and whipped just poured and set as it's cornflour with colour and flavouring and you add milk and simmer and cool in a mould to shape it.  Angle Delight is still on sale in supermarkets and online.  

Evaporated milk is still in every supermarket, you can find it very easily and they keep quite a large number of cans of it and they disappear quickly.   And Gypsy tart recipes are available online in large numbers so it obviously hasn't disappeared or become unpopular.   I looked up Cabinet Pudding and again loads of posts on Youtube for it by various chefs and people who just like to cook and like this pudding.  It's not one I personally had but it's still around.  

Frozen desserts and mousses, yep I had some recently from Lidl and Arctic roll hasn't absolutely vanished, I see it from time to time and that one is so far the only one that could be said to be disappearing these days.

We have jelly not jello in the UK, it's still around and you could easily have shown a picture of the British product yet stuck a box of American Jello in this video about British food, why on earth would you do that?  Bad planning and a lack of research obviously.  
Like showing someone crushing blackberries while talking about raspberries, talk about a catalogue of whopping mistakes.  

Rum Babas are now called Yum Yums,  and sold in bakeries, Manchester tart still gets made at home by people I know but I never cared for it much, and judging again by the sheer number of recipes on Youtube for baked Alaska I don't think it's really gone away.   With 91K viewing Jamie Oliver's recipe alone and others I saw had over 200K views each so there is interest.  I still make pineapple upside down cake as I get asked to by my partner.   Spotted Dick is still sold ready made in every supermarket, and made at home as it has huge popularity to this day, it's a traditional British dessert and always will be.

I have never heard of prune whip so you can have that one because it's genuinely not a thing and I doubt it ever really was or I would have heard of it.  Although things can be regional over here.  Snow balls are around.   Syllabub is rarely made that one is true.  It's largely for people who do historical themed nights these days.   Trifle never disappeared and never lost popularity, it's traditional and much loved to this day.  You will find ready made Trifle in every supermarket, Bird's trifle mixes in the baking section and it's made from scratch at home by millions of people.  I've had it in restaurants at Xmas time too.  

Black Forest Gateaux is still around!!  Every Xmas it appears in various supermarkets and some do it all year round.  Usually frozen.  Also, Black Forest Trifles!!   You have to be quick to get them, they sell out fast.  Food snobs make fun, but not everyone is a food snob.  Most of us understand good food and don't care what a food snob thinks.  

And I am still waiting for the side dishes this video was actually about to appear.  It's all puddings, which are not side dishes they are a separate course of a meal.  A side dish would be veg or potatoes or pasta or rice included with the meat as part of a single  course in a meal but not just plainly cooked, they are a dish that can stand alone or be served as a side.  Cauliflower cheese,  or in the USA  green bean casserole for example.

I am in my early 40s and my children eat all of these, they especially love semolina. My grandmother taught me these recipes and unfortunately my moulds are plastic from tupperware instead of copper. But I will say that most of these died away thanks to Margaret Thatcher and her 1980 education act which allowed local authorities to stop providing school meals except for low income families thus eliminating the need for a school kitchen and cooks 😢

Get someone to help you in the kitchen make it a team effort you can buy sponge cake already made for the recipe that calls for it
