Hyped 3 times. I really do love this channel and the stories you bring to light! It makes the progress we've made to help each other as a society all the more important to protect.

A touching story, Old Sarah. It appears I have some in common with her, as I have physical problems. She is a better person than I am, the absence of the one who swore to always be there caused me to give up faith. Great video!✌️

Poor old, gentle Lady.
Forever survived in our singing hearts.

Very interesting . I hadn't,t heard of this woman before.Well done. What a gracious woman. No self pity whatsoever.

Being poor in any age is tough. Let's count our blessings

So heartbreaking. It is however a wonderful thing to have her account of her life, all of this time later we hear it on a technology never dreamed of then. You still live on Sara, you seemed a wonderful lady. Thank you FF for another wonderful story of an actual person from the time.

Thank you for your wonderful cultural documentary channel sir . Honestly women everywhere not victorian age , early 20 th century suffered from I’ll treatment, inequality, supremacy of men such as father , brother , husband . Unfortunately some narrowed minded people still have that old beliefs till , nowadays. Women during victorian era worked , some even received advanced education . Their gender meant they were given limited opportunities to work. Women at that time were expected to remain chaste , pure loyal to their husbands, if they were not , they were seen as fallen or ruined . Women during victorian era not have to vote , own property, have independence outside their families. Victorian women knowledge consisted of singing , drawing, painting , embroidery skills   , playing instruments and , dancing . They thought her place was place as pious , pure , submissive homemaker. Average age of victorian women age between 22 and 25 . Any money woman earned or inherited automatically belongs to her husband. Marriage was transcend doweries made from bride family to groom . Love expected to develop after marriage. Widow could inherit property wealth from her husband, financially independent, sometimes more desire for marriage, if she wanted it . Victorian families were big families since birth control was limited , 1 in 5 died in child birth. Divorces were nearly impossible to obtain, even in cases of abuse . Unmarried women were rarely to allowed to be alone , without chaperman  . There are etiquette book content about  .
