My pokemon became le evil and the evil Nostalgia Critic bled at me...

What I love most about Strangled red is how it started with the author saying "I'm not like those other PokePastas" and winds up being like the other ones anyway...

Maybe the real Creepy Black  was how strong the old man in Viridian wanted his coffee.

my grandmother used to burn pokemon cards because she thought they were demonic, 9 years later i am now in hell because i pulled a rainbow rare. should've fucking listened.

You glossed over the most important part in strangled red. The trade to complete the pokedex and then the snapping noise.

I always loved Strangled Red, mainly because it felt so personal. Sure, it's got problems, but I still get goosebumps listening to narrations of it. Miki deserved better.

What I like about Lost Silver is that it feels kinda realistic. I feel like someone could hypothetically hack their copy of Pokémon Silver and sell it to GameStop as a prank.

16:28 the scariest thing about this story is the way she pronounces "Lugia"

I think the most ridiculous part of Snow on Mt. Silver is two kids finding Gen 3 "lacking".

0:12 eight dollars for soul silver… it was either fake or cursed so he should’ve known better

"I dare you to try a bite of spaghetti"
"Sounds the creepypasta ready"

Okay, first off, love how you used the "What's that Pokemon?" segment to introduce each story. But everyone time I heard "What's that Pokemon?", I found myself keep saying "It's Jigglypuff seen from above" every single time.

41:11 It even directly references that book! The phrasing is slightly off, but the tagline of Pet Sematary is “sometimes dead is better”

I think Snow on Mt Silver would have worked better if we saw the brothers playthrough instead, since he would have started before Mt Silver, have more of an emotional connection to his pokemon, and it would have got rid of the incredibly odd mental breakdown we see him have that leads Angie to play it. I mean, I get he's probably really young, but at the same time so were all the kids reading the creepypasta and watching gameplay videos of it lol.

To me though it just feels like a slightly better version of Lost Silver

Creepypastas were so scary bro had to get baptized after every story 😭

Imagine getting nightmares about your journey akin to "lost silver" just because a psychic or ghost type happened to be feeling a bit mischievous in your vicinity.

Welcome back nine years old me

"I'M DEAD!"

The copies are monochorome.

i like ts, i remember being super obsessed w pokepasta as a kid and the fear they used to instill in me. this was a good trip back to memory lane, very cozy

I think what makes pokemon games so appealing for spooky stories is that there is a big scale to the world, a lot of limitations on player actions, and a menu system that allows you to see characters, pokemon, items, and to check stats. There are a lot of notable locations to focus on in stories, and a lot of ways to show unusual, yet plausible supernatural events in game. It also helps that the IDEA of death and genuine ghosts are barely touched on in the pokemon world, so it's a fresh concept relative to the source material to explore.

Pokemon (creepy) Black Version is the best way to write a more subtle horror story. As a kid, I thought it was real, and while it did scare me, I also wanted to play it because it sounded pretty awesome to win every single battle by instantly killing all other pokemon and trainers. It's also cool that the payoff of it is that the ghost came for the player. It sort of adds this mystery of whether the ghost did it because it was naturally your time, or if it was some kind of karmic retribution.

The strangled story, aside from the author being a bit pretentious, was also pretty cool, although it doesn't seem clear how Miki died in the first place, or what exactly happened to cause Steven to disappear/have his house blocked off. I'm assuming that when he loaned the Charizard to his brother, his brother got it killed somehow? So he takes his revenge, and then the game just ends there. Does Steven die too?

These days the greatest horror in the pokemon world is Nintendo charging full price for pokemon ZAZA edition despite being certified SLOP
