Is the KOVE 800X Pro better than a Aprilia TUAREG 660 ??

Thanks to Abel’s connections at Moto City Palma, we had the chance to try out a 2025 Kove 800X Pro for a few hours.

What started out as an innocent test ride, quickly became a comparison between the chinese ADV golden boy and my personal 2023 Aprilia Tuareg 660. At first glance, perhaps an unfair comparison. But I can fully imagine that there are some out there who will be wrestling between a new Kove at around 8000 € or a used Tuareg for about the same price. SO here’s my used Aprilia going up against the new Kove.

Congratulations, great review / comparison 👏👏👏. I have the Tuareg for the last 2 years and I love it. Just bought the Kove 800X Pro and for offroad is lighter and fun to drive, but definitely needs a more comfortable seat 😊

Morning Andy beautiful ride out in excellent weather as I would expect. I’m surprised the Kove is not so good I’ve been watching a couple of utubers who take them off-roading these are the 450’s and they are very good maybe even the best 450 out there.I know it’s no comparison you only being on road with that 800 but I still thought it be better than you thought. I’ve just bought a new CFMOTO450 MT for light off roading and that’s mostly very good then I’ve got my ktm790adv for longer road journeys still running both of these in at the moment but enjoying it oh I hope your leg is gradually getting better and be back to full fitness for the summer. I’m thinking about a Aprilia same as yours for a future bike take care

From my (3 brands) arse time on Chinese bikes they do tend to make seats much more on the firm side. My current Chinese/Spanish bike was so fckn uncomfortable I had some foam sculpted out and a gel pad put in to replace it. Now my cheeks feel as if they are caressed by angels as I ride.

I want a Tuareg Rally. No,DRZ4S and ……. Endless craving ADVs as they arrive to market at a fast and furious pace from everywhere bikes are made. I want a new Himalayan too by the way. Constant craving

The 2026 Kove has ride by wire (no more jerkiness), cruise control and quick shifter. Where I live it cost 5k less than the Tuareg, which is heavier and less powerfull than the 800x pro. Services and parts are considerably more explensive for the Tuareg. Anyway, they are both great bikes, but If you are only going to do paved roads with very little and mild dirt roads, don´t buy an adventure bike. Instead, buy a touring one. Don´t be one of those people who buy a Jeep just to go to the super market.

If it's anything like the CFMOTO 800NK with regards to the throttle, it absolutely needs a remap. I didn't wait a week to get my 800NK reprogrammed because I was aware of the issue before I even purchased the bike. I also added the quickshifter to the 800NK the first day I had it. Those two changes made a huge difference. The final thing about the LC8c engine is that the quickshifter is very sensitive to chain tightness/looseness and alignment.

It can all be tuned out and you can of course change the seat padding easily enough. Should you have to, no, at the price of the Kove this all should already be sorted.

To be fair to the Kove it’s quite a tricky route you’ve taken it on between Genova and Calvia. Lots of stopping and starting with tight corners. It’s not easy to do it smoothly on a bike you are used to let alone one you’ve just climbed on for the first time. A lot of bike for 8000€ even if it has its issues.

The Kove 2026 model gets an electronic throttle, so should be better. Maybe Kove a fixed the seat also?

When was the last time you did a bike review..The Hamberg years.?that was when you had the Versys..Having watched other road tests of this Kove 800 I think the example you have here hasn't been or isn't set up properly, seems the clutch isn't correctly adjusted..other bloggers seem to love it and I don't remember them having the same issue as you're having , of course modern E5+ fueling doesn't help but that can be mapped out.
How's your withed wonky leg doing on your tricycle.? Are you still on the flat or are you using gradients.?

Well thats probably price difference to. Or ? And Aprilia has done bikes years before...but i have a Honda nc750 now and before that nt 1100 and the honda comfort seat are magic..the nc 750 had a really hard seat and hard suspension.....dont understand way they dont have the comfort seat original..the nt was god original..
