Mr. Bone is insane. One of those devs had a vision.

3:26 I'm pretty sure the announcer is saying "What's this?", like he is confused you tried to go to an occupied slot.

Mr bone, let me off this wild ride.

I sometimes worry if you'll run out of obscure racing games to cover, then you pull something like this out of thin air

7 year old me would've been through the roof had I heard of this game earlier.

Trouble with the trolley eh?

That intro hit me like a sleeper agent activation.

what and interesting game, the requirement that you stop on the station first to win is certainly unique as far as I'm aware!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but a racing game about trains not only exists, but is actually significantly cooler than it sounds.

Man, Modern Gaming world really need to revisit this game concept, maybe it's just a matter of time where an Indie dev explores this concept.

Not to mention it'll attract the train fans too :D

0:27 “The ride never ends!”

From the actual instruction manual of my PAL copy:

RE-ENTERING THE TRACK

If you derail, you can re-enter the track by quickly and repeatedly moving the right analog stick, used to distribute your weight, left and right. A train, essentially, attempts to re-enter the track even when derailing if it crosses a fork in the track.

If you happen to derail, it's essential that you return to the track immediately! If you delay doing so, you'll quickly lose your position.

"I'm surprised that a spreadsheet of the stats of all of the trains in this weird niche video game exists."  My man, have you EVER met a train person in real life?  Because if you had, that would not surprise you at all.  Train fans are a special sort.

Man, I must have picked this game up in a Lidl bargain bin like 20+ years ago as a kid and I used to play it all the time on my PS2. Never thought I'd see anyone else play it, let alone acknowledge its existence.

Would’ve been a lot easier with Diesel 10

Holy nostalgia hit was NOT expecting to see you play this! For derailing btw if you go left and right repeatedly on the right stick it will re-rail you, the faster you do it the faster you can get back into the race! I love this game, another fun train to try is the “Los Angeles - S” it’s fast however it’s got a extremely low cornering ability making it super difficult to drive

I did a complete play thru of Ripto's Rage for PS1 earlier this year and beat the trolley mission on my first try, so I did it again to fail on purpose to hear those sweet, sweet words.

In terms of what the announcer says when entering an occupied station, my serious guess was always "blocked in!"

Oh my God, I haven't seen or thought of that commercial in so long, I didn't know it was still taking up space in my brain.

God the fact that the Metra Diesel is basically the same ones still running through Chicagoland...
