Been making sourdough bread and other yummies for about 8 months. My kids have suggested selling it and turning our porch into a small bakery/coffee shop. It's a little dreamy to me. But it may need a lot of planning first. Love the information you gave.

There isn't a cottage food license required in Texas. I took a food handler's course online for $10 and cottage food producers can earn up to $50,000 without having to establish an LLC (which is only $300). 👍

In nc you can bake but very strict laws as you must be 100 percent pet free. You must have a separate area in your pantry for your work-related ingredients. They charge a fee to start operating. Of course

If you haven’t already, I would love to see a video about your experience opening your micro bakery for the first time—what it was like and how much of an investment it required. Also, any tips on creating a unique brand and logo that doesn’t just come from an internet template would be super helpful. That would be incredibly valuable for someone just starting out!💌

Here just north of you in Wisconsin we have an interesting situation. I forget the exact details but it goes something like…a few people got in trouble for running micro bakeries because some official or something don’t think they should be able to do that. So they sued and a judge said that their rights hav been infringed on and that they could do a micro bakery. The problem is any actual laws that have been put up never pass so instead we kind of have a framework of things we should be allowed to do but no actual laws spelling everything out.

Macey… I baked sourdough on / off for years until a YouTube channel called the sourdough journey helped me troubleshoot and refine my process. This video you posted is fantastic and such an inspiration since I’ve considered to get back into baking bread. What you recommend is absolutely true. You are superb! You're really hard-working. A lot of time is spent on making and baking good bread. Sourdough in a fridge is a big plus for you, cause the final bread taste is the best due to slow fermenting.
