Where do you rank Darryl Sittler's OT winner amongst legendary Canadian goals?

Pete Mahovlich is missing from the hall of fame.

Serge Savard said of Bobby Orr, "One on leg, he was still the best player on the ice."

If heaven has an ultimate hockey team, this is it.

So many memories of this tournament for me. I was 14 and living in Calgary. One thing I’ll never forget almost 49 years later is the save Rogie Vachon made late in the final game on a blistering slap shot from the Czech’s Milan Novy!

That Czechoslovakia team was very impressive to make it so close considering how stacked the Canadians were. Hats off to them.

By far the best Team Canada ever and Orr despite his knee was unbelievable. They didn't just win , they dominated.

R.I.P. Ken Dryden

In the 1975 superseries the Soviets said that the  Montreal Canadiens were the best team they had faced up to that point.

For me, I was so excited about this series. In 72 Orr was hurt and they wouldn't let Hull play because he jumped to the WHA. At the time they were arguably the 2 best Canadian players in the world And these 2 guys did not disappoint in 76.

My favourite players all time came out of this tournament.  Lafluer, P. Stastny, Gainey,  Barber and Orr. 6 year old me was hooked.

Bobby Orr MVP

I watched these games probably in the late 2000s on the internet and I loved them. All Canadas games were super exciting and the final against the Czech was high drama.   I later bought the DVD set of the 1976 Canada Cup which sits proudly in my collection.

I have an article about the '87 Canada Cup by the late Dick Beddoes.   He stated that Bourque and Coffey would have been the 6th and 7th defencemen on the '76 team.   I think the ranking of Sittler's goal and other goals depends on how old you are/what you remember.  Historically speaking, Henderson's goal will always be #1.  For me personally, Lemieux's winner in '87 is the best because I was in my teens and was at the game.  It was the best atmosphere I've ever experienced at a sporting event.  I've heard comments that the '87 Canada Cup was the highest level of hockey ever played.  I believe that the vast majority of Canadian hockey fans would say the '76 team, talent wise,  is the best hockey team we've ever assmbled.

Great video! I agree that 1976 saw the formation of the greatest team of all time. Team Canada. It was fascinating to watch Esposito, Orr, and Hull play together, even though they failed to do so in 1972. Thank you!

Great video!  My congratulations!  What might interest these same viewers as a follow-up is a series of videos about where all of those tremendous players went AFTER the 1976 Canada Cup, i.e, what happened to them.  And has there ever been a reunion of the players on this team the way the 1972 Summit Series team did?  Well done!

Another excellent video.  Good luck on 25 in 25!

Think those are the greatest Hockey  sweaters ever

I have always wanted that jersey in white. It's the best ever.

This is a great production, brings back good memories
