The informal settlements  along the beach front could not be allowed to continue if we want to be serious about developing our country.
The two hotels must develop the beach to international standards..

Whaooo I am really impressed with the explanations of Mr Afreh the SSNIT director general . No ambiguity or propaganda or politicking , just laying out the facts and making sure no one is left out when the state develops the place so everyone affected can be compensated adequately. I also like how he respected the chiefs without denigrating them. I hope all those who sat down and allowed this lawlessness must be arrested so when people are given jobs they are accountable to the people.

Before you buy a prime land like the beach front, you must get a lawyer to do a search from the State agency responsible for city planning or the lands department to find out who has the control of the property in question and then you proceed from there, you just don’t go to the traditional chiefs

Ghana’s name has been projected highly on the map by Dr. Nkrumah and many others and recently by President Akufo-Addie, when he spoke eloquently at the UN general assembly at the amazement of President Donald Trump, when he said which country he comes from and the UN has to show him the map of Ghana to his satisfaction. Another one is President John Dramani MAHAMA spoke about the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade and had the approval of the United Nations for adoption of the greatest sin against the Black race. So Ghana must without a doubt be modernized to attract tourists.

The capital city must be modernized and the government must do it because the chiefs cannot do it, and the Ga people must give the government the chance to do it. To me Accra is congested and a new area must be located for a modernize capital. May be the Northern region as Nkrumah envisioned that is why he started the biggest international airport underground in the north. The capital was built by the colonial government and there is no room for expansion or modernization. The Americans capital was in NewY York but as time went on they realized that it was choked and they moved to Washington and modernized it, the Nigerians moved their capital from Lagos to Abuja and I wouldn’t mind if Ghana does the same.

So far as the military was involved in the demolition it was the commander in chief who ordered it.

I have lived in America for over fifty years, specifically speaking in New York City, the city was infested with all horrible things in the seventies and it took the then mayor to use the police and the courts to clean the city to normalcy, the saying goes “ trouble are like the babies the more you nurse them the bigger they grow and you don’t have to stop maturing them hence they will default.

Looking at the history  or the attitudes of the people of Ghana in general, the people are not a-tune to warnings or deadlines, they turn to deaf ears until last minute and they criticize and cry foul. I witnessed the Nkrumah’s administration have to use force to move the people  who were occupying the Tema enclave to build the port and the Tema community you see to day. I also witnessed the Achempong’s administration the people of Koforidua Nsongo will not move by persuasion it took Conel Miyina the regional administrator to bulldoze the place to rebuild it. That is the nature of our people, So if persuasion fails force must be used hence the country will not be modified.

Lies .... there is no way they can pay billions. That structures they pull down costs millions. Now they are saying they are going to develop the beach? So it was pull down so you can buit? What? By Christmas you will finish putting the structures? Thats a lie...do you know how long it takes to even build structures in abroad where money is. It takes years. And as we know in Ghana, we Ghanaians can talk but cant take actions. Nobody will build any structures let alone hire those affected back
