I had a friend who attended this seminar. Afterward, he told me, "Chuck brought in these guys from Brazil, and they do jiu jitsu."  Back then, it sounded strange and perplexing. This was five years prior to UFC, etc. Little did we know these guys would change the landscape of the martial arts around the world. Props to Chuck for having the foresight and humility to give them a platform and endorsement.

Hats off to Chuck Norris in exposing his students to another style of fighting that has proven itself to be very effective.

R.I.P Chuck Norris
You were always current with the disciplines and had a foresight of things to come.
Thank You Sir!

Amazing piece of history. Chuck had no ego. He knew bjj was a superior fighting method in many way that he needed to incorporate.
He was a great man to the Gracie's and he even bought The Machado brothers their training center in LA.
Absolute legend.

Fun Fact: Chuck Norris was the green card sponsor/signature for the Gracies and Pedro Sauer.

I remember the old "Gracie Challenge" videos and they always said.... Adding jiu jitsu to your standup style makes you a more complete fighter, neglecting grappling makes you unprepared for the painful realities of ground fighting. But they never said the standup styles were bad or useless.

Chuck actually bought a buliding in a shopping center near his home in California for the  Machados to open a JiuJitsu where he  trained.

Nice perspective on the technical get-up.

Historic. Chuck was a perpetual student. I remember him and Bob Wall walking passed my dental office in Tarzana on the way to the “Spine Center” every day after training with the Gracies to “straighten back out” after training.

Legend states Norris spared everyone in that room from death because he was a nice guy.

RIP CHUCK!❤

All names start with the letter "R"

Nice footage! he was incorporating it into his movie scenes as time went on as well. I remember going to Ricksons seminar in Ontario 🇨🇦 in the mid 90s it's in my Top 3 seminars I ever attended in my 46 yrs of Martial Arts R.I.P GM Norris 🙏❤️ a true Martial Artist 🥋

Absolutely awesome!!!

The option if you’re a great fighter? Don’t end up on the ground! Because lights out!

Amazing to see how far ahead of everybody the Gracies were.

Sensei Kimura of Shukokai would have the advantage! He understood distance, power, technique! Also said playing on the ground was a silly method.

Chuck would have done very well in the MMA

Bruce Lee entered The Chinese Connection, and Chuck Norris entered The Gracie Connection.
