The Pizza Hut demo disc was one of those things you didn't go looking for. It just showed up. Somebody's mom brought home a pizza and there it was, sitting on top of the box in a paper sleeve.
And for a lot of us, that disc got played more than the games we actually owned. Five demos. Final Fantasy VIII, Crash Team Racing, Ape Escape, Cool Boarders 4, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Every one of them cut off right when you were getting into it. Timer runs out, back to the menu, start it again.
If you had a PlayStation 1 in 1999, there's a good chance this disc was in your rotation. Not because it was good. Because it was there.
This video goes back through the whole Pizza Hut demo disc, one demo at a time, to see how much of it actually holds up and how much of it was just the fact that we had nothing else to play.
