On this trip Scotty and I run into a few dramas. We catch a few fish and really had to figure out the pattern before we were rewarded.

Spring fishing in rivers can be contentious. We aren't targeting Cod and we reduced our bait size to weed out bycatch. Yellowbelly (Or Golden Perch) are often bigger in the dams.

But rivers are a thing of beauty. Every turn is a new stretch of water unseen. New opportunities to catch fish and so many random experience that you cant predict. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as it was fulfilling and character building for me.

I was using a 2-5kg light Daiwa Tatula with a Daiwa Tatula SV70 loaded with 10lb x4 strand braid for the very light baits. I threw crankbaits on the second combo, a Tatula 3-6kg medium light, regular action rod paired with a 100 size Tatula reel with 12lb. We ran leaders of 10lb.

If you enjoy the longer videos like this, check out the Films folder on my channel. Videos like this one give me the chance to reflect on the experience. This introspection gives me a unique perspective on angling and I have become a more grateful angler because of it. I hope this allows you to have a better appreciation of the rivers we fish and improve your angling journey.
