Summer is the perfect time to scale everything down and enjoy some proper ultralight perch fishing.
In this video, Thom goes super finesse, using small soft lures including the Westin CreCraw Slim 5.5cm , ShadTeez 4.7cm, and the new CreCraw Slim 7.5 cm to target perch on light tackle.
To match the finesse approach, he uses Super Finesse rods across three different Westin ranges — W2, W8 and the new W10
Can going lighter actually help you catch more fish? We put the ultralight approach to the test and look at why downsizing your lure and tackle can be so effective when targeting perch.
If you enjoy finesse fishing, light tackle and perch fishing, this one is for you.

Got 2 video ideas (no boats or sonar, just regular fishing!):
1. River or Canal for Zander
2. 3 FROM 3 CHALLENGE: In 24hrs get all 3 perch, pike, zander in either river, canal or lake (e.g. Milton Keynes has River Ouzel, Caldecotte Lake and GUC all within 100m of eachother)
A 30cm Perch is a cracking fish on my local river.....I've gone bonkers this season so far getting into 0-2g and 1.5-5g rods....My god, it's wonderful when a 25cm Perch bends the rod right over.....
Discovered Neds the other morning....Westin ones.....they certainly work as I bought a couple of the Ready rigged sets and had 8 on this method with the best on them being 26cm....
Shadteez slim in 5cm and the floating 4.7cm in natural (basshunter) colour on weedless and open J hooks are my go to lures....
