After 3 years of work, my animation is finally done! This was created using Blender for animations and Final Cut Pro X for compositing and sound effects. 3D models and sound effects are from EA's Star Wars Battlefront and other Disney Star Wars media, same with music, so credit where it is due. This was created just to fulfill a dream I had :) hope you enjoy

That final bit had me laughing. Lose a Gozhanti and a number of TIEs, send one Defender. Lose the defender, send five ISDs because something is wrong here.

That's a solid contender for the best drop from hyperspace I have ever seen.

The x-wing starting up scene is so tuff

Nice work! Really don't know why we never got a Rogue Squadron movie or show. What wouldn't be good about Top Gun in space!

He though he toasted it, the Tie Defender is still terrifying whenever it shows up.

So I'm thinking 9 minutes and change, okay, maybe watch the first few, right? 7 minutes in and I'm screaming "get in the cloud, get in the freaking cloud, hide, hide, hide now!!!" Damn I had fun, thank you!

when i was 20, i built models. I had a fleet of five Imperial Star Destroyers hung in a corner of my room.

There is a reason why Imperial fighter doctrine was so inadequate: They relied on slow-reacting carrier vessles to move most of their strength over interstellar distances when Rebel fighters could hit and fade with impunity.

I think whats happening here is our X-wing ace knows he can't take a defender on their terms, so he has to pull some trick out of his sleeve and hits the booster. The defender is forced to reroute power from shields to engines to keep up, which puts them on fairly equal grounds and allows an X-wing to 1 pass the thing.

That was a highly cost-effective X-Wing. Now pull the pilot from the front lines and let him train others!

7:45 makes me drool, the cannons firing in a circular pattern <3

Smart move to go into the atmosphere. The Tie had WAAAY more drag and difficult handling. Instantly removed the advantage of all the guns it had.

Always a treat to see a Tie Defender in action.

This deserves to be more popular than 930 views, it's so epic and the animation is some of the best I ever seen in fan videos

Damn, the final showdown with tie defender and it’s explosion was pretty neat

@matthewcuratolo3719 1 year ago

As a Star Wars film, it’s quite well done. I am bothered by such things as smoke trails and wingtip vortices in a vacuum. But Star Wars has never obeyed Newtonian physics.
