14:13 You know a plot point is so screwed up, that even a Kirby game had an easier time comprehending the idea.

Hearing "What would Elon do" has officially ruined the rest of this great friday for me, thanks Sam

As a physics student who is literally learning about orbital physics motion, this movie really is trying to make me fail that exam.

I wish Cody would do 10,000 BC

It's a bit of a shame that you stopped the video before the beautiful outro (but I'm glad you had as much fun watching as we did!):

"Flyyyyyy me to the moon
And let me kick its fucking ass
Let me show it what I learned in my jujitsu class"

I love how well spoken and knowledgeable this guy is!

There’s also something I thought of when I saw the video of this film:

The entire world’s ecosystem is absolutely cooked, it’s probably the worst mass extinction event in history and yet it’s treated as a happy ending (iirc). Who knows how many animals got bamboozled by the giant ball of cheese.

This is going to be Absolute Cinema.

Moonfall saw 2012 and said "Hold my beer"

His retrospectives on transformers and pacific rim are some of my favorites.

the recent one on cloverfield was very informative as someone who has never seen the movie, looking forward to your reaction.

Watching Pointless hub is so entertaining, really hope your also gonna watch his transformers videos, they are so funny

As someone with IBS, that is ALWAYS relevant. Because it can be all-encompassing.

Emmerich seems to massively underestimate the size of the moon while also accentuate how large it is.
Like, even if the moon COULD be nuked into pieces, the moon is gravitationally locked to the earth, so all the STILL MASSIVE fragments of the moon would hurtle towards Earth. And considering the event that supposedly created the moon reactivated the entire geological stability of the planet, even one tenth of the moon hitting us would be extinction level as a MINIMUM. There's also a decent chance that if the while moon impacted us, it would destabilize the molten core of the Earth, breaking everything from standard gravity to the magnetic field to the atmosphere to the stable surface of the crust, meaning EVERYTHING DIES. There will be no bunkers, no oceans left to re-evolved life, nothing but ash and molten hell probably forevermore.

Finaly!! My Prayers have bin answered

What's even worse is that we have the DART mission! We have actually hit an asteroid with a space craft to see how much it would react. It was luckily more than enough to stop an asteroid from hitting the earth if we catch it far away enough. The moon is giant and the closest celestial body. The reason why DART is so important is because we can only realistically nudge something to go slightly off path millions of miles away.

If the moon was actually somehow pushed towards us, we couldn't do anything about it! Its big, close, and all particles coming off will stay in orbit until falling in or another magic force starts moving them.

ah yes ancient humans are space travel capable civilization that ruled the galaxy and can create dyson sphere,
but somehow have no knowledge of EMP.

You finally watched his review of my favorite Halo movie: Moonfall!!!

Listen, Sam retained his morphogenic field when he got uploaded. Once he comes with grips with his non-physicality, he'll be able to edit himself.

I have to give credit that Moonfall is bigger and grander than 2012.  A feat I never expected to be possible, yet Roland Emmerich managed to do it 13 years later.

Personally, my favorite Emmerich film has to be The Patriot.  Something about it is just so much more memorable than any of his other films.  When I watch it, I forget that it's a Roland Emmerich movie until I see the credits and always react:  "Oh yeah!"  I think a lot of it has to do with how dark and serious it is, and how good the performances are from the actors.

at 22:00 this bit is from animatrix, the second renaissance. its on YouTube and the Human machine war part is a nightmare to watch.
