On January 23, 2026, Westminster Police stopped 40-year-old Thomas Michael Raiola after an officer reported seeing a Chevrolet Malibu being driven recklessly. During the encounter, Raiola made an unexpected statement that immediately changed the investigation.
Officers opened the trunk and discovered three children inside. According to police, the children had reportedly been riding unrestrained in the trunk for approximately 17 minutes. Fortunately, none of the children were reported injured.
Raiola was arrested on suspicion of DUI, reckless driving, three counts of child abuse, and failure to provide valid insurance. He was booked into the Adams County Jail and later posted bond.
