This is my favorite era of that lil ol' band from Texas. Tres Hombres, Fandango, Tejas, Degüello, and El Loco. RIP Frank Beard.. you had one of the meanest shuffles in the game.🤠🥁🔥
We were so spoiled in HOU back then! I was a HS senior at the time! Every week we had at least one great concert we could see! I feel bad for the youth today. Concerts at the time ran around 10 bucks.
Billy reference Taylor Cadillac b4 playing I'm Natonwide..that's David Taylor Cadillac in Houston been around for years. Wouldn't be surprised if Billy's dad had one since the family was upper middle class and lived in Tanglewood in Houston . That's the neighborhood George H. W. Bush retired to.
I saw them on the afterburner tour, which I think was 1986 here in Louisville, Kentucky, and the following night at Rupp Arena in Lexington. The backdrop was the eliminator dash and halfway through the show, it changed into the afterburner spaceship dash. I bought a pair of cheap sunglasses, which looked like the blues Brothers sunglasses and just like the lyrics they were the darkest sunglasses I had ever worn. I wish I still had them. I think they broke eventually. The band played so loud and clean. Both shows were killer. I was a junior in high school.. great days.
Saw this show on Halloween Night in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl. It rained all day, never got above 55° but ZZ Top, the Stones and the Fabulous Thunderbirds kept the music hot!
Best ‘power trio’ ever, in my favorite era- Dusty’s bass tone is killer. Billy on the ‘59 LP. - Frank keepin the pocket tight. i miss those times. RIP to Frank and Dusty
