For the first three days of the Caucasus Cup, I simply filmed everything I saw around me with my phone: people, horses, mountains, rivers, our conversations, difficulties, and everyday life on the road.

So don't judge the quality of these first few shots too harshly. Sometimes the camera shakes, sometimes the footage cuts out, and sometimes I simply pulled out my phone while moving and captured what I could see.

Starting on the fourth day, I started filming with a GoPro, so from now on, you'll see this journey almost through my eyes—straight from the saddle.

But for me, the value of these shots isn't in the quality.

They're real.

These are the first three days of a long journey—from Sochi to the Marukh Gorge.

I filmed all of this primarily for the memories. So that years from now, we could return to this journey ourselves. And so that one day, our children would see what we were like and what the Caucasus was like in our time.
