Huge thanks to these people for preserving the historical photos and videos used in my video:

This is one of the most impressive LCD handhelds! Sure, the bar is not set very high, but having actual two planes of elevation and gameplay that's not just "go down to avoid the enemies that are up" is pretty cool.

Pretty good first video, I was actually surprised to see that this is your only video on the channel!

Never did see that series from Bandai, but for 1982 it is impressive! Glad you were able to repair it successfully. LCD games felt so cutting edge at the time, albeit limited. Some of course were better than others. Cool video, good luck with the channel. It shows I was your 2nd subscriber, so the algorithm got me in really early...

thank you  for reigniting my nightmares. i had the soccer one. i can still hear the tedious music and sound effects.

Watch out when you disassemble this kind of screen devices, the display may suddenly unstick itself from the PCB and fall down. The theory says the zebra strips are going to make contact when applied again no matter what, they are not required to be sticky. So it wouldn't be wrong to detach it if the display "wants" to come off. Just don't let it drop.

Wait ! I have this and i never noticed it has dual lcd's  or anything different about it. i need to take another look at it

that's pretty cool! and it looks pretty too

The joystick and other buttons probably need cleaning with alcohol and a toothbrush. I'd say the entire board with deoxit. I was an electronic repair guy in the 90s and I did that to everything that crossed my bench.

So cool! I love seeing stuff like this. Growing up with gaming in the 80's and 90's we had so many fun and/or terrible options to choose from. It was the Wild West era of gaming, anything seemed possible.

I remember this one from back in the day.

Nice, i haven't seen this before. Great upload. I think you're channel is going to do well.  🕹

2:23 "Panties"  nice one, Google 🤣  3:05 tbf it does look like it says something like "パンツ" but I can't make out the last character, and what we have does say pantsu sooooooooo

If I existed in 81 and saw a "portable holographic game" I would piss and shit myself. It's so simple yet so futuristic!😳

Now this would be a Kool X-Wing game if it's based on Planet Hoth🤔

There was an arcade game I think from the 80s that had a screen and another screen was displayed in front of it using a mirror,  giving it depth.  Can't remember the name, though.  Edit, it was called Wyvern F-0.

Nifty!

Was this exclusive to Japan?

Panties is most likely patent

Yes. Try zelda lcd, it is great. I presume that THIS is the best lcd game ever made.
